1. for christmas this year i was planning on setting up my aunt & uncle with an account here (+1 V-Machine ^.^ for countless games to choose from freely.) but since we use a router and our internet connection is one of those shared ones (the more people online and doing stuff the more the connection speed and whatnot gets divided thus slowing everything down somewhat. :/ ). i'm wondering if that might or might not cause any problems for us. just making sure ahead of time.

and 2. given how you can trade Viz here for steam game codes... i'm curious as to how the pricing works on that. cause i don't have $10 currently and if i could afford it with Viz i'd kinda like to buy the game Time Shifters.

They can set up their own account and play. I do not know how your wireless is set up,so I cannot answer that. It should cause any issues as long as you both are on separate accounts.

You earn Viz by logging in,replying to posts,win in contests,donate to Vizzed,writing a review among other ways. I am not sure what the exchange rate is,but it should not be too bad. You buy the game from Vizzed and then you put the code for the game in your Steam account,I assume. I have bought a couple of PS3 games from here from David and it is trustworthy.

As far as the account thing goes, you shouldn't have any thing to worry about. As long as it doesn't appear like any thing shady is going on (like for instance, if the other account was rating all your content for easy Viz / CP, or vice versa), then there's no worries there. As long as it doesn't seem like abuse is happening, you don't have to worry about sharing an IP address, since I think that's what you were asking.

And with the bandwidth thing, as long as it's not slow to the point you're getting disconnected, there shouldn't be any issues with that either. Downloading the ROMs from the RGR, or using anything besides NetPlay on the site should still work fine, it just might be a little slower than usual if you're sharing the bandwidth (and even NetPlay might work fine depending on your Internet strength).

The going rate for Viz is usually $1 = 1000 Viz, at least when it comes to "official" site content. You can usually find other offers in the Market Forum for higher trade rates, but users usually have something specific they want when offering a higher exchange rate. Almost every Steam game in the Market, and some of the other codes as well, usually go for $1 = 1000 Viz, but it might vary depending on the user. Davideo usually tries his best to keep the exchange close to that default rate, excluding specific items / circumstances.

When it comes to donations, the exchange rate increases depending on how much you donate. I don't remember the exact increments, but it's something like anything more than $25 gives you an extra 25% per dollar, anything over $75 gives 50% extra, and so on up to an extra 100% per dollar over a certain amount donated. However, the CP earned is always a flat rate of 2 CP per Dollar donated.

The only hang up with your parents starting accounts on a shared network would be that you'd share an IP address, which usually points to a rereg and prompts investigation by the mod team. However, as long as you give us a heads-up on who your parents are on the site, there won't be any issues at all. My brother, sister and I all share an IP, which got my sister banned from chat because it was suspected that she was a rereg, but that was all cleared up later. Just let us know so there's no confusion.

that's good to know regarding the multiple accounts and yes, it'll just be the 2 of them using the account.

as for the bandwidth thing, i was mostly just pointing that out to help explain how our connection works. i rather highly doubt that'll pose any problems aside from if they happen to try any huge games or hack/mods/etc. like say...the castlevania 64 HD texture pack for example. that thing has a massive file size and took me hours to download when i tried it out.

another thing that m0ssb3rg935 pointed out is the IP number. thing is, not only is ours a shared connection but it also uses a variable bandwidth. it usually stays relatively close to the arklatex region though since we live in southeast oklahoma so if anything from say...a foreign country comes up on that info, THEN we'd have reason to be concerned as it shouldn't go that far out. so yeah, heads up on that too even though i guess.

endless bandwidth on a relatively slow speed...it's not that bad a compromise. (compared to SOME ISP's and their monthly bandwidth cap BS >.>)

if that's true (well, somewhere around that ratio) then good news! i currently have 40k Viz.

guess i'll go poke around the market forums some and see what comes up.
