I played this game since 2010 and have a good understanding of how things work. Today I still play this game because unlike all those fake anime games with their realistic graphics, can not compare to Mabinogi. This game is an open world 3D RPG center around Celtic mythology, although Mabinogi does not make it the main religion but reference some of the story little by little. There is no class-lock, you are free to use anything without limit. Currently (2016), only 3 race exists which includes Humans, Elves, and Giants. When visiting for the first time you might want to explore the game's hidden secrets or fight the many bosses you might encounter. No matter what you want to do, it is all available.

Difficulty:
The game is not hard, you are given many options to either roam free or fight bosses. However, you do feel overpower on the first boss but that will go away after fighting others. Game's dungeon are designed to make it easy for newcomers while making it hard for veterans. Bosses in each difficulty are different, a newcomer boss is only the boss and veterans boss might be more than a boss. More levels you get the harder the boss. You'll never run out of healing or mp but that doesn't really help you with harder bosses.

Depth:
As told, the game has lots to offer. Guilds is one day to help you find many secrets, you'll encounter. Following the story is another way but it might take forever. Community forums are currently the best place to communicate with people, they can help with many problems. The game stays in a anime life, you could trade with people, join events, fight people, or find friends.

Story:
You do not have to believe in Celtic Mythology to enjoy it, you will find that the story has changed from the original. Anyway, players start as beings that travel from other worlds. These beings called Milletian are immortal, learn very fast, easy forgotten by the town and able to be anything. The main storyline starts with saving the world no big deal until something happens and then many more things happen, I'll let you my readers discover that yourself. One thing, though after a certain story you'll find it being misplaced with the game. I do not recommend finishing chapters (19 & 20), you are not losing out on anything. In fact, you will save yourself from lots of unwanted mission request.

Addictiveness:
I have to give it a 4 because after you beaten everything and saw everything, you'll wonder what to do. Updates rarely happen, events are given and take. Offen Nexon does not want to give North America anything, you will have to buy stuff while South Korea players get it free. Too much gotcha to get the best things which ruin the addictiveness.The engine is very old, it was built in 2000 and many of the developers left. Rarely do any of the temporary developers Mabinogi gets ever have a good code, many of these developers have been accused of copying and pasting a game event code.

Sound:
Music is great, it follows the Celtic Mythology style but also Korea tradition. The game allows you to use any music interments available and even use MML. Players can make as much music they want, people have made many albums using Mabinogi. You can hear all the music at C:NexonLibrarymabinogiappdatamp3 boss music included. Most of the songs are created by someone named Hanstone, we do not have any information about this person.

Graphics:
The engine can not handle high-quality models if you look closely you will find small mistakes. Nexon made a statement that they are unable to get the game better graphics due to the engine being so old. This also leads to gameplay problems but that is another story, you can easy get HD with today's modern computers on Mabinogi. Many like myself like the Mabinogi models, you can't beat something like the original models so it's fine.

Overall:
A very good game, not very great because Nexon milking people or not fixing bugs. Currently, the only anime life game where you can do anything. Newcomers have lots of fun, people who want to discover can do so, fight many bosses, and talk to people.

I haven't played this since, about 2013, I was on the Tarlach server. Is it still active? I kinda dropped it because of the fighter class, which was insanely OP.  It sort of ruined PVP.

yep still active, fighter class is more or less OP because the hardcore people left. only people around are fashionogi who roam the lands, they are nice though.

I love this game, but I don't get many chances to play because of internet issues but I really love the game, especially when I have someone fun to play, since I don't like playing it alone all too much. Good job with this.
