I am embarking on a journey through 25 years of Sonic. And what better place to start than right here on Vizzed? But I just thought I would leave this thread here with a list of the games in the order I intend to play them. You know. Just in case one of you wants to join in an race me or something. Whenever I begin a new Sonic Game I will post that I am about to play it and summon any players who request to race, or just embark on the journey with me. And I will probably be trying to 100% them all, so I will probably do 100% percent runs on my own, because I assume that racers would not want to do all that. Unless you specifically state that you want to do a 100% race.

I am also doing this in honor of my father. He died when I was little. When he was alive he would always play Sonic the Hedgehog games with me. This is a way of remembering him as well.

* I will still announce when I will be playing the games that I cannot play on Vizzed. Through communication and the power of friendship, I invite you to still race/journey with me if you own your own copy of the games. You may also contribute by suggesting that you will play a certain Sonic game that is unlisted, and share the experience (races and whatnot) with you own friends who own the same game. And I will add the game to the list and credit that particular user next to the game title. I will give you a big portion of Viz points if you undertake the task, and 100 more if you 100% complete it, and provide some kind of evidence that you really did do it. And no you cannot just post a picture of an already complete file and cop out of it. If you courageously play a bad game like Sonic (2006) or Sonic Boom, I will and 100% them, I will give you an additional 400 Viz points along with the initial 100 giving you 500 Viz points total. I really do not use Viz points that much so it is fine for me.

** I actually own a 3DS and several DS/3DS Sonic Games. However, the top screen overheated somehow and melted, so I cannot play any of my games despite the fact that every other part of it works. So I thank you especially for undertaking those games if you so choose.

P.S. Any missing games are ones that I do not own, cannot play, or were not listed on the wiki site I used. I also left out some of the ones that are further out in the future. I own some of the, and may get to them, but I want to wait and see how this goes. So all the games after Sonic Unleashed will not be acceptable for submission until the time comes for them. Only because I want to keep things neat, because I feel like this idea could easily get out of control. I do not think anyone wants to buy me a wii, wiiU, PS2, any other console that has any sort of sonic game whether it be a compilation or port, and all the respective games that I do not have. So yeah. Don't hate on me for the lack of thoroughness, please.

   I love you guys! And I hope you have fun, whether you just enjoy following my updates, racing me to the finish, or even doing  your own journey in your own time. Maybe this can become a Pent-centennial (Every Fifth Year) tradition. Or just be one thing that a crazy, over-confident user once did. Either way, I am sure that it will be epic. You will tell your children stories about this moment for decades to come. (Just kidding, you don't have to do that, lol). Let the Journey Begin!

 On Thursday August 18, 2016, I will be doing my play through of Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the SEGA Genesis. Since most of yinz are probably going back to school soon, I will do my play-throughs later in the day, and closer to the weekends so that younger members have a chance to join in the fun if they want. I will post what time I will be playing it first thing in the morning tomorrow.

   I will be playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1 tonight at 8 PM EST, to kick off the Journey Through 25 Years of Sonic. Be there or miss out on what could be one of the most fun events ever.

I will be playing Sonic the Hedgehog 1 for the SEGA Master System on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 8:00 PM EST.

I'm not too big a fan of Sonic the Hedgehog games but what really pulled me into this thread and made me basically tell myself that I had to reply is that you're doing this to remember your father. I think that's one of the most uplifting things I've read on this site in a very long time and if I could like any post twice, it would be this one. More power to you, I wish you luck in this marathon.

i think it's incredibly touching that you've decided to do this in honor of your father. like minuano, i'm not a huge fan of the sonic games, but it's your reasoning that's drawn and captured my attention. best of luck!

Aww....that is so sweet I'm sure your father would be so happy, that you are doing this for him. That's all a parent would want for their child to do something that remembers them and the times that you shared. Yes! It's time to resume my adventure! I had some busy days but I am determined to finish this quest! Today, October 9th, 2016, I am beginning my playthrough of Sonic 1 for the Game Gear.

Sonic Eraser is a pretty short game and I beat it in 5 minutes. Another one down!
