I was playing through Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Game Gear recently, and when I got to act three I realized something. When you reach the end of the level, you hit a wall and fall to your doom. However, Robotnik flies by and saves you just so that he can say he destroyed you himself. I guess. Usually you hear the boss theme come on when you reach the boss screen. But in this instance, you are not even near the boss screen. The music starts when Robotnik flies on screen, even though he is not really part of the boss fight. That got me thinking, what if Robotnik has a CD Player in his vehicle? What if he writes his own songs, and plays them to make his battle with Sonic feel more epic? Maybe Robotnik is just that full of himself. That would also explain why the music abruptly ends when you defeat him. The CD Player always gets damaged when Robotnik's vehicle starts to explode. Just something for you guys to think about.

Well. . . it wouldn't be the only thing he keeps in there then.
