Where to begin with X-Men Reign of Apocalypse..well for starters the sound in the game is broken (it doesn't play) and while that didn't really effect me because I threw in my head phones and listened to music while I played, I'm sure the no sound being in the game will affect other gamers and could be a "make or break " decision for some people to give the game a try. With that said X-Men Reign of Apocalypse is still a decent game despite the minor sound issue and I believe fans of the X-Men franchise will still appreciate and  love this mini game side scroller, which does stay true to the comics look and feel.

The Graphics in X-Men Reign of Apocalypse are decent, while they could have been better. One can notice your character sprite does drift/pace back and forth which looks like it's stimulating breathing when standing still, giving that feeling  that they are real and alive. I'm not a huge fan of the background and scenery in X-Men Reign of Apocalypse, while the scenery has that classic X-men feel and obvious design  that drew inspiration from the comics , the background is just a still set low resolution image with no real "life" to them, in fact if you didn't have prior knowledge of the X-Men universe (and the game didn't tell you the location of the stage when it starts) you wouldn't really be able to tell what the scenery you see is supposed to be.  There is one notable detail about the graphics in X-Men Reign of Apocalypse though and that would be the character design/style. With the character design one gets that feeling of nostalgia as the character design really stands out and the characters just "pop" with vibrant colors , they are designed with the classic X-Men suits/clothes and I was clearly able to recognize classic X-Men like Cable, Sabertooth, Gambit etc. in their classic outfit designs.

For the Sound in X-Men Reign of Apocalypse I choose to leave it N/A (non applicable) because it is broken and isn't playing and even after I recording video's of me playing X-Men Reign of Apocalypse, in those video's the sound still couldn't be heard so while this is a rom to vizzed issue and not so much  a issue of the game it's self I've chosen to leave this field N/A.

The Story in X-Men Reign of Apocalypse goes like..after coming home from their journey in the Mojoverse the X-men return to the Charles Xavier school for gifted youngsters to find that the mansion has been completely destroyed and abandoned for quite some time. The X-Men soon discover upon being attacked by Sentinels that they are in an alternate universe ruled by and completely controlled by one of the classic and most powerful  X-Men villains Apocalypse. Upon learning this the only why to return home to their time/universe is to defeat Apocalypse and his army of familiar mutants over the course of twelve stages. I feel as though the game did tell a interesting story that holds your attention throughout simply because it has a real focus point  and no extra unnecessary content or side missions/quests. The dialog in the game is decent and ties the game together nicely with explaining what's going on and does a great job explainging the settings and various situations seen thought out the game.

For Depth X-Men Reign of Apocalypse I feel was just about as long as it needed to be for the purpose it was trying to fulfill. What I mean by that is the game was meant to be a quick time killing side scroller beat'em up that should provided about 3-4 hours of entertainment which it did. While X-Men Reign of Apocalypse isn't that long, it spans over about 12 stages and basically has no open free world roaming it does have a multiplayer option where you could battle throughout the game with a fellow player or VS each other in VS mode. My only complaint is this is a X-Men game, correct..yes, with that being said playing as only one of four X-Men the four X-Men being either Wolverine which has claws that excel in close-range combat or Rogue which has a charge ability, or Storm that controls tornado projectiles, and Cyclops that has long-range optic blasts(laser beams) , doesn't quite equal a X-Men game nor was it as I expected it to be. I was hoping you could rotate which X-Men character you play as throughout  as well as the ones you unlock throughout the game but atlas you do not, your stuck as which ever character you choose from the start until you beat the game, which then at that point you can go back and beat the game using any character you unlocked. With that said the depth of the game really doesn't span at all past beating the twelve stages but the trade off is you can go back and play the game through again using some of the iconic/your favorite  charters you unlocked Like Gambit or Nightcrawler.

For Addictiveness, X-Men Reign of Apocalypse kept me entertained for the day that I took to play it through and beat it(I was sick the day I decide to play and beat it). While X-Men Reign of Apocalypse may not have much or really anything to do outside of beating the story mode it still has a great deal of replay value because after you beat the game, you can go back and play through the game again using the characters you've unlocked as your main character.

Now for the Difficulty of X-Men Reign of Apocalypse this is where it get's interesting. The difficulty of X-Men Reign of Apocalypse depends solely on who you choose to play as in my opinion. I feel as though (and I'm sad to say) Wolverine diffidently had the easier run through of the game while playing as him given on how his powers are set up. But overall the game is a cake walk given that the enemies can only span from two locations (either the left side of the screen of the right) and I figured out early on in the game(as you can tell from video's of me playing the game) that if you stay to the right edge of the screen when the enemy re spawns to walk back on to the see-able screen they can't attack right away so you can basically just attack them relentlessly and keep a cycle of knocking them back off the screen and hurting them going until the enemy looses all their health bar. So for that alone X-Men Reign of Apocalypse wasn't very hard at all it's about the same difficulty as mostly any other classic style beat'em up.

Overall X-Men Reign of Apocalypse is a fairly decent enjoyable game. The characters all have different attack moves with there own unique style and movements. The character design is great with vibrant classic X-Men colors and feel to each of the X-Mens outfit style and design. While the scenery and backgrounds stay true to the X-Men comics, scenery and backgrounds like the X-mansion, Blackbird, Genosha and other familiar locations my only complaint is they just don't feel as realistic and engaging as they could have been. And even though the sound didn't work/play for this game, X-Men Reign of Apocalypse is still worth a play for one of those days were you want a decent game with a good story to cheer you up but you don't want  to have the game tie you up(time wise) for the whole day. I would recommend this game for any fan of the X-Men franchise that would want to play a game more focused on a classic tale/story from the X-Men comics.
