Most people who play Pokemon Go don't actually want to go out of their way to find Pokemon, I mean, who would want to walk a mile to find a Pidgey? Wouldn't it be so much easier if you not only knew what Pokemon were around you but also exactly where they are? There are in fact a couple ways to do this, some people already found out about these cool tricks, while others are still in the dark and stick to running around in circles.

First off, I'm going to discuss another game called Ingress, which is a similar game also developed by Niantic which has a lot more in common with Pokemon Go than just who they were developed by. Ingress is another AR MMORPG that was released about 4 years ago. In this game, the players uses a map that represents the surrounding area, just like Pokemon Go does, and one of the things labled on the map is called Exotic Matter, which is basically the thing that fuels everything in the game, however, it appears that the code Niantic uses has a direct link between the two games, and that areas with more XM in Ingress also have a high concentration of Pokemon in Go. So if you see a Pokemon that you need nearby, you could switch over to Ingress, go directly to the areas that have the most XM, and then switch back to Go, and Pokemon should start appearing where you are. Of course, there's a chance that it might not be the Pokemon that you were looking for, but hey, it's almost free XP, Stardust, and Candies at the expense of a Pokeball.

The next trick to some is viewed as cheating while to others makes the players more active and it's called Pokevision. It's a map that uses the code from Niantic to display real time locations of every Pokemon that's available. All you have to do is pick a location and the map will display all of the Pokemon that are around you and how long you have before they despawn. There could be a cluster of pidgeys right around you, or there could be a Pokemon that you need just a few blocks away, with Pokevision, it's just up to you to decide whether a pokemon is worth the extra walking for. Of course, Pokevision will not display every Pokemon that is in the game, only ones that are already in the game there, so if there's a Lure around you or you're using an incense, those Pokemon could pop up, but others might as well, even if they are nowhere near you.

It's up to you whether you want to use one of these tricks or just stick to luck, but these tricks take some of the difficulty out of the game by eliminating the chance aspect of the game and makes it so that all you have to worry about is the traveling to the locations and actually catching the Pokemon, which can be hard enough.
