Well... it's another terrorist attack. I'm sad and I'm angry. I don't know what else to say about it that's different from what people say after every attack.

But I do have a question: Am I the only one who has this story mysteriously missing from their Facebook feed? Even 5 hours after the fact, it wasn't/isn't trending and I was the only one to share a post about it (although a few friends did apparently see my post and commented on it). One other friend has since shared a separate link about it. It just seems odd that this isn't all over my Facebook and Twitter feeds, but maybe it's just a coincidence. Facebook has been confirmed to fiddle with its algorithms for the trending topics and what is weighted in news feeds in the past, so I'm suspicious that they might be throttling this story for some reason I can't understand. Any info on that part of the story?

This is the first time i hear of a terrorist attack via Vizzed, and I was just on FB a few minutes ago, something that overflows my feed with terrorist attacks on western countries.

I'm extremely saddened that I am here once again. This is really just sad. I don't have much more to say than that. I'm not gonna start a muslim debate here, because that would be extremely immoral, and I hope this thread doesn't turn in to one.

Wow...That really sucks.

How freaking dare these people? Just..They are going to get every other immigrant thrown the heck out if they keep murdering people like this. This is getting insane. And what will the governments do? Just give some lip service, oh boo-hoo so sad, then pretend none of this happened. There won't be any investigation, the people won't be caught, and next holiday or event even more people will die. It's just sickening.

I'll be honest with you guys: I don't get how a truck could drive on a way only reserved to pedestrians. My only assumption is the lack of vigilance and security there during the celebration of that day, coming from the French government. That's just it, I don't see anything else relevant.

The people thought it was part of the show and maybe the guards knew nothing of it. But this just shows what cowards terrorists are. They need to find them, torture them on live tv and internet and show their bloody remains to ISIS. Sometimes you have to stoop to their level.

I feel bad of all of the people who died and were affected by this attack. The terrorist took around 80 innocent lives.
Most people believe ISIS was behind it, although it was a single person, not multiple people.
Honestly, I'm tired of these terrorist attacks happening, I just want a peaceful world where you don't have to worry about being attacked in any country. Terrorist organizations like ISIS are always resorting to cowardly attacks to get attention, and they've definitely got it.
The November 2015 French attacks and the Turkey attacks have all gotten ISIS the attention that they so desperately crave.

Like imamonster said, I hope people don't blame this attack on Muslims.

Let us use gun sense logic in this situation

- Ban assault trucks!
- No one should be permitted to drive such a big trucks. It should not have more than 4 wheels.

Seriously now, these things are bound to happen in countries like France because the population is virtually disarmed. Yes, I make that point; it would have never happened in places like Texas because the driver would have been shot - or at least his tires blown out - before he could have killed 80 people.

I was one of the first people to hear about this since my mom texted me from work about it (I know, ironic considering my reply is so late). To my knowledge it wasn't actually confirmed if he was with ISIS. They're probably going to try to take credit for acts like this regardless if they were responsible anyway, anything that makes them seem more fearsome. But it's likely they were and even they weren't, the guy was surely inspired by them in some capacity.

I don't really get how stooping to their level is going to solve anything. It's certainly not going to deter them or even make them question what they're doing and it will likely further increase the antagonism of muslims. They all know the risks and they all think they're fulfilling a higher cause. All that would do is make us seem desperate to them by suddenly reacting so strongly. It's also hypocritical as a society on so many levels.

Anyway I don't support and likely never will support loosening gun control in France or other European countries because of this. Gun violence related deaths that would follow far outweighs the amount of deaths that might've been prevented in a case like this. Notice I said may because they'd probably just try finding ways around it. Barely feel like turning on the TV just to see Trump and anti immigration party leaders try to capitalize on it and stir up more islamophobia...

I was going to make a post about this back when it happened, but it kinda slipped my mind. Even with all of these tragedies happening all the time nowadays, I just can't seem to understand what pushes people to kill so many people with these horrific acts of violence...
