So I got the idea foe this thread from watching an episode of King of the Hill, the episode with the book club.the idea is that most threads talking about things that you like, whether its books, movies, or whatever are too simple. You say what you like or what you were reading and watching, and then you move on. You rarely look at what other people said, and even if you do, you probably still end up just moving on.

That's what this is for, its exactly what you think it is, its just one of those clubs where a bunch of old women sit around in someone's loving room and talk about one book that they were reading.

The idea is that every week im going to be posting a different topic, and for that whole week you can talk about that topic. You can first start off by saying what you think of the book or whatever the topic is, and once other people start talking about the same topic, you can start talking to each other about it until the topic is changed.

As for topics, they could be a single book, an author, or even an entire genre, and each Monday, the topic will be changed, and users can put somewhere in their posts a suggestion for a future topic or else I will just randomly pick topics.

This weeks topic is going to be... HG Wells. Here's my post.

I'm a pretty decent fan of HG Wells, but I never heard of him until I saw the War of the Worlds movie that started Tom Cruise. I know he made a bunch of other famous books, but that one happens to be my favorite. I just love what he does with science fiction.

P.S. The book is so different than the movie, one of the biggest changes between book and movie that I have ever seen.

I like this thread. It brings some sense if more topic to discuss about on books and more. I don't think I have heard of that book, much less read it or watch the movie either. Would you be so kind as in tell me what its about please? @.@
