Two years ago, I gave a very short review of Spider-Man on the N64. Instead of Re-Reviewing the N64 version, I've decided to review the PS1 version of the game, as it is better than the N64 version. I love this game, and I have sunk many hours into it. It's in the top 10 best Spidey games, and it still stand up today. Let's swing into Spider-Man!

GRAPHICS, 8: It looks like an average PS1 game, but the animations are very good. Spider-man kicking and punching look smooth, as well as the other animations for the enemies. Some animations look weird, such as Venom jumping. The textures look like they came from a cartoon (or in this case, a comic book) as some look good (Such as Spidey) and some look awkward (Such as Black Cat without her mask).
Some levels look good, while others look bland. The bottom of each city level has this yellow fog. The developers turned this into a story where Doctor Octopus turns to entire ground into fog. It looks like an average PS1 game, but the animations are mostly good, so it gets an eight.

SOUND, 8: The main menu theme is good. The voice acting is very nice and doesn't sound boring. Spidey's one-liners are great. The sound effects are cartoonish, but that fits the feel of the game. The music that plays during gameplay is also average for the PS1. The sounds fit the feel of the game, and they don't feel out of place, even though they sound like an average PS1 game. Sound gets an eight.

ADDICTIVENESS, 10: I've played this game a lot, and occasionally play it from time to time. The gameplay is very fun and addictive, and can keep you playing.  There's also plenty of replay value to keep players coming back to unlock different things. It's very addictive has quite a bit of replay value, so Addictiveness gets a ten.

STORY, 6: The story starts like this: Peter is at the Science Expo 2000, when Dr. Otto Octavious is talking about his invention. Peter then sees an impostor Spider-Man! The impostor then works for Dr. Octopus, which causes Peter to find out who the impostor is, but then Eddie Brock turns into Venom, and the game starts. A lot happened in the first five minutes of the game. It's a story that fits so it gets a six.

DEPTH, 8 : Like I said earlier, this game has plenty of replay value. You can unlock concept art, story boards, character models, and even different costumes for Spider-Man. There's even a what-if mode, although it can only be unlocked through cheats. This game has a lot of content to get players to come back. Because of this, depth gets an eight.

DIFFICULTY, 5: This game has four different difficulty modes. Kid Mode, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Players can choose the right difficulty for their play style, and won't find the game too difficult. Since it offers challenged to players of all skill levels, difficulty gets a five.

OVERALL, 9: Spider-Man is a very enjoyable game, especially if you like Spidey. As I said in my N64 review, If you're a Web-Head like me this game is worth trying out.
Thanks for reading this review, and until next review, bye!
