Yesterday after studying for my online test all night long, I tried to get a few moments of sleep, but suddenly my mom storms into my room and confronts me about something trivial. She forced me to wash out the bathtub...when my siblings could've done it. So after all that, I went back to sleep and woke up a few hours later to find that my 3DS was gone. I looked all around the house for it, but no luck. I eventually called up my mom and asked her if she might've see it anywhere before she left this morning. And what she told me really had me seeing red. She told me that she needed money, so without my consent she took it while I was resting and pawn it or something that. Then left me hanging by stopping answering the phone when I tried to call her afterwards. And to make matters worse, it started raining when it time to pick my little brother up from school. Having no umbrella, and didn't want to get soaked, I decided to stay until the rain stopped enough for me to walk up there at least. While I was walking, a driver nearly hit me and said "Hey! Watch it, dumb***!". Now, being the respectful person I am, I wisely deciced not to bring myself down to his level and calmly kept walking until I finally reached the school. When I arrived, the people in the office scolded me for being late. I apologized despite being extremely rude to me and left with my brother. Overall, today was really bad.

Your mom took your 3DS and sold it without your consent? You know what that is right there? That's theft. It doesn't matter if she's your mother or not, you are 23 years old. You are an adult. Your mom does not have complete control over you now that you are an adult, and if she thinks she does then she's wrong. I'm very sorry to hear about how bad your day was, but was pisses me off the most is hearing about your mom taking your things without permission and selling them to make her own profit. That's a criminal offense, and you can call the police if you feel the need to do so. Hope things get better for you from now on.

19 is still counted as being an adult, once you turn 18, you are an adult. Parents don't have as much control over you as they once did while you were under 18.

Oh my goodness, guys. You won't believe this... I few minutes ago, my mom came home with my 3DS. Surprised, I asked why was it still with her, and you told me that she couldn't pawn sell it for the money she wanted so she handled it back to me. I was still upset anyway because she erased everything on it. My memory, everything gone. It's...It's almost like she's toying with my emotions and just doesn't care.

Final Weapon : at least she gave it back to you ... more then likely she isn't the one who erased everything it might have been the person she tried to pawn the 3DS off on and then gave it back to her ... you can get all of that data back once you log into your Nintendo account it isn't like the save files on all of your games that you were playing are gone so you can pick up where you left off at ... I am mad at her for taking it on you in the 1st place she had no right to do that and that was highly mean of her

Buy a cabinet with keys, or a vault, then put all your gadgets in there. Maybe set up an alarm as well.

Seriously though, you might want to have a heart-to-heart talk with your mom. Maybe she needs the money for something important regarding family matters? Offer to help her out through finding a job or anything else that could gain you and her some money. Who knows, maybe she felt bad about getting your 3ds but had no choice since she really needs the money and she sees the 3DS as something not as important as say, a phone or laptop.

EDIT: Oh, and tell her not to get anything else without permission, and that you'd rather have her say what the issue is instead of doing things behind your back.

EDIT2: She tried to pawn it right? Maybe she also has the intention to get it back from the pawn shop after earning enough money? Talk to her about it.

Caltrops. Just buy a few, lay 'em down, and after one or two surprises, there won't be anymore stomping into your room or taking things. Just make sure you don't sleepwalk....
