I heard from a friend that Minecraft may remove ranks from servers if they affect the game itself. An example for a server may be a server called Lemoncloud, where ranks also take over the server there. If those ranks affect the game itself, it needs to be removed. And to be honest: I'll vote for 'yes'. I think the ranks are being used for saying "Hey guys, i'm a rank, you noobs not! Hahaha!". So that's why i put 'overused' there. And they are useless for countries that cannot get the needed currency. For example, you need to pay $4.99 for the lowest rank in Lemoncloud for 1 month. Now, guys... I live in a continent where most of the counties use Euro's, not USD. So for most countries, paying for ranks (which is wasting your money on some ways) is impossible. The same friend who told me this has a higher rank than most newbies and members in Lemoncloud, but you can also win ranks there. But in order to do that, your wallet comes into your room again. So.

I hate this idea 100% because of someone has a rank, it means that they did something to get that rank, so then to go on and just get rid of them and have everyone be the same is a waste. It's fine if a server never used ranks and then they can't make ranks, but if a server already had ranks in place it's more than a waste to just strip everyone of what they either bought or earned, and even if ranks affect the game, taking them away would negatively affect the servers much more than just leaving them in.

I'm fine saying that servers can't make ranks from now on, but taking down ranks that were already established is an idea only a dumb marketer would implement.
