This is my review for the game WWE Survivor Series
The story is simple: You need to Impress the General Managers of each brand: Raw or Smackdown.
The game has 16 wrestlers, 8 from each brand
For the Raw brand:
"The Legend Killer" Randy Orton
"The Game" Triple H
Edge
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels
"Captain Charisma" Christian
"The Rabid Wolverine" Chris Benoit
"Y2J" Chris Jericho
"The Big Red Machine" Kane
For the Smackdown brand:
Booker T
"The Doctor of Thuganomics" John Cena
"The Wrestling Machine" Kurt Angle
Chavo Guerrero
"Latino Heat" Eddie Guerrero
"Mr. Thursday Night" Rob Van Dam
"The Master of the 619" Rey Mysterio
The Undertaker
Your goal is to win all the titles on one brand, then go to the other brand and do the same thing.
Pretty simple, right?
Except that was the goal of the last game. Road to Wrestlemania X8, and the one before that.
Let's take a closer look at this game:
Graphics: GBA-level, lower quality than the last game 4/10
Sound: No commentary, and the sound effects are recycled from the last game: 6/10
Story: Pretty straight-forward, but the opponents are randomized, and you never know what is going to happen during your matches. 7/10
Gameplay: The mechanics are the same as the last game, but I'm surprised that they put actual effort for the new characters, including new animations for the finishers. The controls are the same, but the select button is now the finisher button, instead of AB, 8/10
Addictiveness: The cage matches will get boring when you can't escape the cage before your opponent gets up. 7/10
Depth: Not much, they removed the shopzone, which eliminated all purpose of playing the game. 5/10
Difficulty: It's not that hard of a game, unless you're tired of the opponent reversing all your moves, 5/10
Now for the final score:
4+6+7+8+7+5+5=42
42/6= 7/10
The verdict: WWE Survivor Series can't survive being a re-hashed version of an earlier game, with so much similarity overlooking whatever differences they have
