So recently I saw an article about a bottle that can convert air into drinkable water. It's portable, but pretty pricey. It was made with people such as cyclists, athletes and hikers in mind. There are currently 2 different models. One is simply a bottle with a solar battery to power the device, the other being made to adapt to a bicycle and using the momentum of the bike to power it. In many ways, this is revolutionary. No longer will people (possibly lost) in the woods or out doing things far from civilization have to worry about dehydration. You can read more about it and see a short video at the link posted. Seeing all the sad things constantly posted here, I thought something on a more positive note would be welcome.
(I really hope this is the correct forum for this topic.)

I've seen this as well and I thought it was awesome!

Think about the other possibilities.... having these in locations where people have poor access to clean drinking water. Instead of pulling water out of a well or river that is dirty and contaminated you can get clean water from the air. Or at least cleaner water from the air.

Either way I can see this technology being really useful to help people have access to clean water where it is otherwise not available.

I read this as well and thought it was very interesting. Maybe this could help areas in the future that are drought prone or people who live in very dry area. I could also see it helping people with very poor quality of water. It will probably take a few years for this to be availablebut it does have lots of potential.

The concept can definitely apply to a lot more than what I listed. I was trying to keep it short and to the point. But yea, I would love to see this more practically implemented in places across the world where clean water is something people are in dire need of. The only drawback is in extremely dry aired places, it takes much more effort for the machine to draw the same amount of moisture out of the air.
