Since this is a gaming site, I have to assume that this question has been asked a million times already. But I am really interested in knowing who other users' favorite bosses are. And to make it slightly original, I'd like you to list 5 favorite bosses. They do not have to be in a particular order. Just think of 5 bosses who really stood out to you throughout your gaming experience. It doesn't have to be an action/adventure boss. It could be a tough opponent in a fighting game since they are all technically bosses. Or a tough opponent in a puzzle game such as Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. Or maybe GlaDOS from Portal. Gym leaders and Elite Four/Champions from Pokémon count as well.
Let me start you off with my own list:

1. Doomsday Zone Boss (Sonic 3 & Knuckles) - I loved the feeling of reaching this secret final level after many years of trying to beat this game. It was so awesome that I cried.
2. Ridley (Metroid Prime) - I have only beat Metroid Prime once, but this encounter with Ridley is one that I will never forget. It was epic, and slightly terrifying, which is what I would expect from the likes of Ridley.
3. Nicole/inside the Marker (Dead Space 2) - Dead Space 2 is the best game in the trilogy imo. And when the Marker activates and unleashes it's full fury on Isaac Clarke, it is so worth it. It is satisfying to feel like you are defeating the enemies once and for all.
4. Sasuke (Naruto: The Broken Bond) - This is another boss fight that ended in tear shedding. Naruto is my favorite anime of all time. It's because I relate to some of the inner conflicts that the characters go through. And being able to virtually experience that intense battle between Naruto and Sasuke was just awesome.
5. The Great Mighty Poo (Conker's Bad Fur Day) - Yes, this is one of my favorite bosses. It is just such a random and ridiculous idea that no other idea could compare. The whole boss fight is accompanied by a fun tune that the boss sings along to. And upon his defeat he quotes the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz after being flushed down a giant toilet. It's hilarious.

P.S. You don't have to be as wordy as I was. I am just a writing addict. Sometimes I can't stop myself.

Hmmm....That's a tough one.But off the top of of my head I guess I'd say (in no particular order):

Streets of rage two:Abede....Abededede....The wrestler guy.Mostly because he's so darn scary. No just physically imposing, but he can literally blow away your health and he has that really annoying knock back attack.

Transformers Fall of Cybertron final boss. The music, the atmosphere, the ship your on getting torn apart by a worm hole. This boss has it all!

Sonic colors, egg nega wisp. While it wasn't anything too spectacular, it was definitely the high point of the game, and man, that finale.

Megaman X command mission, Epsilon. While he wasn't really the final boss (uh, spoilers?) it was darn impressive.

Batman Arkham Origins, Deathstroke. It was a toss up between him and Bane, but, in the end, I chose him and we all know why (hint:because it's awesome, that's why!).

Oh wow this is a tough one.

  1. Neon Tiger from Mega Man X3 he is a Tiger and has catchy music. Plus he is very hard which I like
  2. Sun Star from Mega Man V (Game Boy) very tough boss when you beat him you have accomplished something. He also has an instant death attack. So he requires skills to master.
  3. Ballade from Mega Man IV (Game Boy) Ballade is an interesting boss. He is tough and brutal requires skills to beat. But it is what he does at the end of the game. What he does turns him into a good guy and he helps the good guy(Mega Man ) win.
  4. Shadow Man from Mega Man 3- This guy is super tough he can dash into you, throw his shadow blades at you, and he is also a Ninja. According to what is cannon in the Mega Man world Shadow Man is a ninja robot unearthed by Dr. Wily thus he is tough and has deadly attacks
  5. Freeze Man from Mega Man 7- Another tough boss but what makes him special is he is cool no pun intended to fight. If you do nothing he just stairs at you and taunts at you. But he has several attacks he is one of the most challenging robot masters in Mega Man 7 very fun boss.

Honorable Mentions

Pluto Mega Man V (Game Boy) Pluto is a snow cat and he looks amazing. I like his design. He is also tough probably the second hardest boss in the game. He can dash into you, slash you, and throw homing missiles at you. This battle is frantic, face paced and will keep you on your toes.

Pharaoh Man Mega Man 4- built off of an Egyptian Pharaoh he is very hard to beat. His weapon packs a punch, he is fast but he is challenging. He mostly requires reflexes and skill to beat. Not to mention his theme can cause you to get it stuck in your head.

Slash Man Mega Man 7- Slash man was based off of Pluto and it shows. Capcom took Pluto and made a tougher boss. Very faced paced battle here and a very hard one. Plus his theme is also catchy.

Dive Man Mega Man 4- Dive Man is a naval type robot. In what is cannon he was originally built to protect ships from pirates and threats. The battle is very tough as he is fast in the water and can launch himself into a torpedo.

Bass (Various Games) Bass is a strange Boss. He is supposed to be a bad guy but he has some good in him. His fights are usually challenging as he has equal power as Mega Man. But its hard to kind of root against him in games. Over the years he has become more of an anti hero.

Wheel Gator (Mega Man X2) This guy can be a tough one. He is a Gator and most of the time you can't see him. He can torpedo you, fire his weapon at you. But he can also jump out of the water and grab you like a true gator.

Sword Man (Mega Man 8) Okay Sword man is a cool boss to fight. He has a lot of bit to class to him politely introducing himself even to enemies. The battle will keep you on your toes. But interesting when you dodge his attacks he compliments you in doing so.

Hm... In no particular order, I would say these... (Oh, and there are some spoilers for people if the are playing these, and haven't gotten to this point yet.)

Wild Arms 2 - Lord Blazer

Wild Arms 4 - I would list them all, because they were all pretty epic, Gawn being my favorite.

Grand Chase - Gaikoz (I loved how I would beat him unscathed, and my other teammates would all die multiple times. Ryan is the best. XD)

Metal Gear Solid Series - Listing all the best bosses in the MGS series would easily take up every slot on this list, so I decided to just list the series as a whole, and pick one of my most favorite fights... Even though there are SO many amazing ones. The Metal Gear Rays from MGS2. So many, and you felt so epic dodging missiles, cutting down machine gun bullets, and firing rockets right back. I also want to mention MGS4, Metal Gear Ray. Being able to fight them using a Metal Gear Rex, was the best.

Chrono Cross - The Time Devourer (You know who it is.)

Well that's my top 5 list... Even though I had tons more... like the Xorn from Grandia 3, or the Divine Dragon in Legend of Dragoon, or Bunji from Gungrave, or (No joke, I can go on for quite a bit longer) etc...

Really? Again? : I thought the time devourer was pretty epic, but having no theme kinda ruined it for me. If I could point out one thing I was disappointed in chrono cross, it'll be that. But seriously, this out of all the bosses in the game should've had it.

TheBWoods15 :   That's a tough one to pick only five bosses, but here goes:

1.  Both Emerald and Ruby Weapon in Final Fantasy 7.  Just beating one is a feat since they are over powered to the extreme, and much more difficult than the final boss, which brings me to my second...

2.  Sephiroth from Final Fantasy 7.  Not the VERY last fight, with just him and Cloud, but the actual 7 Winged Angel fight.  I loved the music, and he was actually kind of a challenge as well.

3.  Again with the Final Fantasy....Kefka and the Goddesses from Final Fantasy 6.  The artwork alone, being on a simple SNES, was amazing.  The fight was long and drawn out and difficult, and the music was awesome.  There is nothing about that game that was not simply amazing, that, and you couldn't cheat with the vanish/doom technique on them.

4.  Not sure if this counts, but "Through the Fire and Flames" by DragonForce on Guitar Hero 3.  I couldn't even beat it on easy, but the song is insane.  If you want to know the definition of impossible, listen to this song and wonder how they can even do this on a guitar.

5.  The Litch King from Blizzards "Wrath of the Litch King" expansion in World of Warcraft.  He was epically hard in both 10 and 25 man raid when he first came out, but now he is soloable.  Still a fun fight.  When he was still a challenge, the fight would go on for hours, all the while, people are yelling "do it this way, go that way, soak that damage, get out of the death circle!"  fun stuff

I guess that will be my five bosses I had the most fun with beating

1.  Garland from the original final fantasy.  He was one of the first bosses that I ever smashed.
2.  Bowser from any of the Mario games.
3.  The dragon from Phantasy Star Online.  One of my all time favorites especially when you were working together with other people to defeat him.
4.  Mike Tyson from the original punchout.  I still remember being wiped out in like to hits.
5.  The dragon from gemfire.

I know these are all old school bosses, but don't judge those are mostly the games that I play nowadays because I don't have to put too much thought into it while I play them.
