Not unless I'm in a very specific, most likely coffee induced mood.Usually, using shortcuts and glitches breaks the immersion for me.It also depends on how old the games is.While I might be willing to exploit a glitch in, say Sonic 2.I'm usually not going to try to cheat in, say, Uncharted. That's just not how I do things.

This always depends on the game that I am playing.

Normally, I like to play the game the way that it was meant to be played, which means without any shortcuts to use (unless its something like Mario Kart of course), but when I am playing a really hard game or something that I don't really know how to do, I'll use some glitches or shortcuts to skip ahead in the game.

Honestly I prefer not to use glitches and shortcuts to beat a game especially if it's my first play through of the game. If I was attempting to beat the game on my second or third time because it was just that enjoyable then that's when I probably would use glitches or shortcuts to beat the game or at least get me to a certain level or point on games that don't save your progress or use passwords to record your game's progress.

I like to play games more or less vanilla the first time through (Though if there are easy exploits to be had, I don't see why I shouldn't use them).
The second time through is when I go crazy. I honestly just love pulling glitches off. They feel satisfying and there are plenty out there that are fun with hilarious results. Not all glitches necessarily benefit a speed run either. Sometimes it's fun just to see when the system/game just crashes because it can't take anymore

It depends on how severely it changes the game play. For instance, I don't use the flute trick in the one Super Mario Bros. game that lets you skip to the last world almost instantly, because that defeats the purpose of playing the game. If it's small glitches / shortcuts like exploiting a way to get extra money or items, then I'm all for it. But like the OP said, I generally tend to do at least one play through without any kinds of cheats / glitches, then have fun with it the next time through.

I try to complete the game normally first time though when doing a second playthrough or trying to 100%, I would be aiming to do as many shortcuts as possible or just glitching for fun.
