Has anyone seen this yet? It's from 2008 I believe and I've finally come across a copy of it.

It's absolutely intense. I'm not even halfway into it and what I've seen so far amazes me. The amount of control the multi-national food producers have is scary. They practically control 75% of food production in the US.

They talked about how there used to be hundreds if not thousands of slaughter houses around the US and now there are 13 that feed the entire country. That's 1 for every 4 states basically . That's gross.

So, anyone else seen it and have any opinions on the documentary, or any other info they have heard about food production where they live?

http://www.cinemahaven.com/2009/11/18/food-inc/ (go to this site to watch the documentary Food inc. online for free.)

This is for those who want to see the movie in order to respond to this debate properly.

Man when I saw the lifestyle those chickens were living. I just though man I'm going to become a vegetarian real soon. Even fruit doesn't look this sickening when rotten. Man I wonder though will this system of "food harvesting" come to an end. maybe but some pieces on the chess board have to be moved first before we get better living conditions for man and animals alike.

oh nice.... great link!

I downloaded my copy... but it's really worth a watch.

And yeah, the lifestyle of most of the animals was sickening.

Another point that was made in the documentary was that 2 cheeseburgers are cheaper than an equivalent size of vegetables. You can feed your family on fast food (using $1 menus) than you can buying regular ingredients from the store. It's really sad.
