This is a insignificant move indeed. Who knows what will be removed next? Likely as the e-shop content is increased, the emulators on here decrease. At least we still have multiple emulators not of nintendo ownership, but who knows what will happen to them?

Eirinn : Surprisingly, there are still some far bigger sites that haven't been targeted yet.

Chindogu : I agree, if it wasn't for sites like this, so many of these retro games would be long forgotten. Keeping them relevant is I think great for gaming. It gets harder and harder to get your hands on these old games due to them either dying from age, becoming rare and expensive, etc.

Blazer 31 : I could've fought the legal battle but I'd be going up against Nintendo who have far deeper pockets then I do.

Jordanv78 : Yeah their greed is going to ruin their reputation.

LunarDarkness2 : Nintendo is really going to destroy their image. They've been making a lot of dirty business decisions lately (for example, making SNES games available for the New 3DS and not the 3DS which is like giving the finger to those who invested in a 3DS). Vizzed isn't the only site they've targeted. While they have the right to remove these games, they even went the extra distance and requested homebrew and rom hacks to be removed as well.

TristanTehGamer1 : I honestly don't think this site took away a single cent from their company. If anything, it popularized some of these franchises which may have resulted into users taking interest in their newer games of these franchises.

Authur3389 : Sega is an awesome company and definitely my most respected game company. They've never been known to make decisions based on greed. They know about Vizzed and have contacted the site before but the only thing they requested me to take down was a Java emulator I was using which they had licensed which is completely understandable.

vizzedwinger01 : Atari was the only other company that has requested me to take down games but it was only like 10 games for the Atari 2600 that no one cares that much about. Also, there's a reason that PS1 games aren't public, Sony could potentially do the same thing.

Joneithevius : I honestly don't see Nintendo being around in the console world for too much longer. I think they're going to end up as a handheld company and as a 3rd part developer.

danielbelitch : A lot of the games they requested be taken down aren't even on the Virtual Console. I've always thought the Virtual Console games were overpriced. You have companies like RARE giving away 30 of their classics for $30 and companies like SEGA giving away nearly 50 classics for even less than that while Nintendo is literally charging almost half that amount for just a single game on their virtual console.

Tyrian Delirium : That's true and I respect that they didn't take immediate legal action, they gave me time to remove the stuff before taking things any further.

bananaeater99 : I'd be less irritated with this if all of the removed games were on the Virtual Console e-Shop and if the e-Shop games were cheaper.

Davideo7 :  Wow, seriously?  That says a lot of Nintendo I've never known before.  What's wrong with them?  Hey, I don't know how much help I can be, but hang in there.  At least not all of the games here are being taken down, right?

Wow this really does suck. I was on the third last level of Yoshi`s Island and this happened. At least they left Chrono Trigger, Megaman and Conker. I guess i'll start using actual emulators now.

Davideo7 : True battling Nintendo over this legal action would be risky considering how many of them there are with different reasoning's and such, but what's more true is that many of the games here are certainly not on the e-shop as you said so this is really unfair indeed, in fact to be honest I don't think you were making money off the games anyway as I know it's illegal because of copyright, but it's only the site due to it being your design and to keep it running isn't it? Not the actual games we play so Nintendo really are being a bit broken minded here if they think they still should remove the games, especially how they aren't even in the e-shop a big mistake they are making that's for sure.

Just as I got to the final boss of Chapter 5 in Paper Mario, ugh.

It was kind of a slap in the face when Nintendo brought out the Wii U not long after the Wii (it felt like they were just slacking off to me), and now this. I can understand their point in the legal aspect, but in reality most of these games are already kind of in the process of fading out of existence. They're only available on ebay (or some other similar site) and eventually will probably not be of any use due to old age. I could maybe see the N64 due it being "newer", but for NES and SNES it's just ridiculous.

Davideo7 : it seems like I miscalculated how many of the games I was playing that the removal wiped out there are only like 5 games stillz left that I was originally playing that are untouched by this infantile outburst from them I'm so sorryz that this has happened though like I said before there has to be some sort of mole on here otherwise how would they knowz of all the games on the list of the ones removed unless someone from within Nintendo has played them

also whyz remove the rom hacks or homebrews unless they are planning something shady like they might have made the mole make a copy of it onto the computer and then they are going to modify it for themselves and put it out in real life without giving it's original creator any shred of credit due to them stealing it and deleting it from all sites it was originally on and hoping by the time they release the game for themselves everyone will have forgotten where they first saw the game

I love Nintendo's hand held games so for them to do this to the site has made it less likely that I will buy too many more games outside of the pokemon games in the future and I'm sure I'm not the only one on here that feelz they way so they just lost a huge chunk of money thankz to their tantrum >.>

Know what? no, forget them. I have had it with Nintendo, I am not buying a single new product of theirs. I was going to get the Wii-U, but they can kiss off now. I know I am 1 person and they would laugh, but still, my business with them is over

The only thing I can say Is I hope this doesn't become a trend with other companies.

Otherwise vizzed it's self just'd be a posting place.

To be honest: Nintendo is just being stupid here.  If they really wanna be successful they'd have to track down every single site that hosts Nintendo Roms,   and there's thousands of those.

If they're just picking specific sites like vizzed and others, then it's a waste of time.  People will find other ways to play their retro games,  We're not stupid Nintendo and people know how to react with their wallets.

A few questions on my mind though:

-With this happening I'm assuming there'd be hardly anymore Nintendo RGR Competitions?

-Are the Mario Paint RGR competitions that happen every October done with because of this?

If so I'd have some suggestion games to replace that:
(Wacky worlds creativity studio, or Art Alive could work as an alternative)

- With the games being gone, does that mean everything with the game including reviews are gone too?

There's some other questions on my mind, but I'd think that'll wait next week to see where everything plays out.

Wow this sucks I was just playing a Pokémon game this afternoon.  Why is Nintendo doing this now when they could have done it 10 years ago. This isn't fair because some people cant afford to buy the games and plus some of the games are hacks of Pokémon games and that shouldn't affect them. But wow this is the only website I play for the games and now I'm defiantly trying to get vizzed point to get to play the ps1. This is the best free site to play some of my old games and this is the site where I finely beat Pokémon red. I hope vizzed can do something about it.

I don't know about you guys but I think we can bargain with them possibly. I mean the near 2 billion views does call for something business like. Maybe we can wager an incentive to keep them I.E. Free advertising space, product mention, and the possibility of having general access to forums for marketing purposes. Hell most of these games I own or will own, and generally make me excited for new next Gen exclusives like Donkey Kong Country Returns, Smash Bros, and Pokémon.

Oh my gosh, David! I'm so sorry! I wanted to play some Pokemon today, and then I found out! How do you think you might get Nintendo games back?

All I have to say is two things.

First of all, what everyone else has said throughout this thread.

Secondly, REALLY?!?! THEY EVEN REMOVED "DONKEY KONG 5 THE JOURNEY OF OVER TIME AND SPACE"!?!? THEY EVEN REMOVED THAT?!?!?!?!?!

Sad.

Based off of  a technicality they have no right to sue. Because you are in a sense letting people borrow games that are already owned.

The second issue it if they say that you make people pay for them. Which is not true either due to the fact that the money goes to keeping the site and servers up. That is all.

So by both of these points, Nintendo has no right to sue. I understand that this site takes away money for some of the games they release as Virtual Console games. At the same time there is nothing wrong with allowing some one to borrow another persons game. Even if there was money involved. If that was true then Rental places and Gamefly would have went out of business a long time ago.

Edit #1:
As a Vizzed community we can actually do something about it. As simple as a petition. What is that website called? change.org I think?

Edit#2:
Not to mention going to the news with this since there is nothing reported on it...
Edit #3:
Plus if you really want to get into it, the games that are on here have fallen out of copyright. So the games on here they can't touch. Especially since they are technically the originals.

The time has come the walrus said.........its time to release the flood gates!!!!!!! It's time to allow the Nintendo DS on the site for retribution then they will cry and we shall laugh! This is horrible though a lot of good games here, some I haven't even tried yet that I wanted to try. Soon though my friend.........Soon........So are these games gone for good, or like in a few years can they come back?

This isn't just messed up. It's Donald Trump messed up. Let's fight Trump with Trump and build a wall against Nintendo.
