I ask this because as a kid, I used to watch the show and wish I had a real-life Togepi (like a lot of kids at the time actually haha).

What about you? Which one would you have now (or like me, did you want as a kid)? 

I always wanted a real life charizard. As a child, I always had dreams of flying in the sky on it's back. Course not anymore now that I'm all grown up, and know pokemon ain't really real. But I'm still hoping one day something similar like that will happen, though. Maybe like holograms?

That is easy . A Squirtle ! The cutest little talking turtle you can imagine . I love the color blue so a cute little Squirtle would be perfect . I have Squirtle doll from Japan and I have good times imagining how it might speak its name and scurry around my apartment if it was real .

The Squirtle species made quite an impression on me whenever I got to see one of them appear in the Anime . They are so adorable . The mouth sort of reminds me of the Berenstein Bears mouth when closed .

 The guy that gave it to me called it Zenigame [ pronounced ze-NEE-ga-ma ] . I looked it up on serebii.net , the Squirtle page and that is exactly the original Japanese name for the adorable cutie we call Squirtle .

Cripes , I would like a Togepi too . It seems kind of like having the company of the cutest baby but not having any diapers to change .

I wanted a Togepi because I seen her being carried around on the show, and I guess kind of sorta like a pet? haha I was like 9 at the time when this came about.

I would want an Eevee, they are the best and one of the cutest.

plasticinsanity :   Oh yes . I was around that tender little kid stage myself when I watched the Anime a whole lot . It was amazing and exciting and the Pokémon show they currently air just doesn't have that same energy .

 Yeah , moreover those Japanese names don't sound that bad . I am not entirely sure it was the better thing to give them names formed from English words to make them easier for the English speaking world to remember . If anything, learning how to pronounce the Japanese version out of necessity might have brought us closer to understanding the Japanese people themselves . Language is one of the keys to understanding people .

Postman3 : I haven't given the pokemon show another chance since they created the new generation. It just doesn't seem the same for me lol. What're some of the new names?

I would want a Flygon or a Luxray. 

I've always had a liking to Flygon and made it a point to get him in every game I could. Regardless of how I built my Pokémon team I'd always build it as a 5 Pokémon team (meaning the 5 Pokémon compliment one another in some way) and add a Flygon. Flygon is my favorite dragon type, and being able to fly around would be pretty cool.

Luxray is another Pokémon I like, though not as much. I say Luxray because I like Luxray and I could train Luxray on how to charge things when I want it to, if that's even a thing electric type Pokémon can do. Otherwise, Luxray's not too different from the kind of pets we have currently (compared to other Pokémon) and I've never had a pet larger than a medium/small cat. With Luxray I could actually let it hang around in my room whereas I'm not sure I could do that with Flygon.

One Pokémon I want in real life would be a Absol, specifically a shiny one. I really like Absol in both its design and its abilities, not to mention because of its ability to sense incoming disasters which would be very helpful in keeping myself and anyone I care about alive. So that's basically a Pokémon I want in real life.

In real life, I would want a Lucario. Having a Pokemon that can read people's aura would be pretty cool to have, and if I was in danger (like an active shooter in the area), I could just have it use aura sphere on the shooter, and bam, he's out cold.

Gosh... This is hard. From what Pokemon I remember off of the top of my head, I think I'd love to have a Torchic or a Treecko (sorry, not a Mudkip fan!) and their respective evolutionary lines.

I'd love to have Torchic because it's adorable and its line is really cool. I'd enjoy it like a baby/best friend as a Torchic because of how playful it is, too. And then, when it becomes a Blaziken, it'll be like family/bodyguard to me, and it'd be sick.

As for Treecko, Treecko would be like a little brother more than it would be a baby. It fits in with how real people work: Can be really protective, can be fun, but also can be annoying. But on top, it would be such a cool thing to be friends with.

Oats : That's also a new generation pokemon, right? I've never heard of that one, but sounds neat. I really need to look into the newer generations one day lol.

I'd want to have an Espeon or a Sylveon. Having a friend that can move things around on its own would be pretty cool.
And what's not to love about Sylveon?

Chromatic : espeon is super pretty! I had to google it because i recognized the name but couldnt put a face to it.

Actually, no. Both Treecko and Torchic are starters from generation 3.

I'll probably have a Skitty. It's a perfect cat pet. Even if Pokémon training existed, he or she'll be my starter Pokémon.
