Simple question. Who have you convinced to join the ranks of Vizzed? Are they mainly playing games or have they posted in the forums? Are they still on the site today?

And if you haven't, who WOULD you recruit?

Personally, dramabethie was the one who told me about this site, although not directly (so unfortunately she didn't get the recruitment bonuses, but I made sure to give her enough Viz and such to compensate at times). And I recruited another (albeit inactive) member named Jprebs.

I could recruit some of my real life friends, but there are several reasons not to:

#1 - Their English level is like -2/10, with a few exceptions, and they aren't very active in social networks

#2 - They aren't very much into retro games, they even aren't much into modern gaming

#3 - They are largely uninterested in Steam or PC games, or basically whatever involves a PC because they don't even have Skype

Main Reason - They are already troublesome enough to deal with in real life

So basically, unless I advertise the site to a different audience I will hardly recruit anyone here.

I would recommend the site to people but I honestly don't know many who it would appeal to simply because I don't know anyone who enjoy retro games or online forum communities other than myself. That and their English not being very good might deter from trying to join. I do remember telling my older brother about the RGR once because he was looking to play an old Sega Saturn game but I don't think he ever ended up checking out the site or if he did it probably wasn't for long.

That and I'd rather not have to monitor them all the time due to feeling responsible for them.

Maybe if I suddenly start hanging around a new crowd of people who actually enjoy the idea as much as I do I'll be able to refer some people but until then I'll probably just be that one Swede, which I don't mind too much honestly

The topic is kinda vague, but I'll comment on what I think it's about. I've referred almost 3k unique users to the site and countless registered users.

I told like five different people about Vizzed. Three are my closest cousins who are into video games, and my sister. My sister got on and was so excited to play some old retro games. However, her computer isn't as efficient as mine. She told me once she gets it fixed she'll come back on. As for my cousins, two of them lost any interest they had because they got Minecraft for Christmas (which was about a year ago, I believe). My other cousin and his younger brother (the fifth person) was into the idea. He actually wanted to come on here, make some friends and play some good old retro games! His younger brother just wanted to play all the RPGs on here. Sadly, one of them is the class president at his school, and the other is in so many activity clubs.

Jordanv78 : I remember David once creating a "competition" of sorts trying to recruit people to the forum since there wasn't a lot of active posters, offered people Viz for each Newbie who mentioned their name in their first post... I remember PMing HUNDREDS (over a thousand at least) of Newbies convincing them to post. About 20-50 (I don't remember) actually did it, while only about 5 became active. HOWEVER, I believe 3 of those still post today, so... I can take pride in that. Those who posted were there to stay.

Btw, I addressed the vagueness in the first post. Thanks for pointing that out.

I tried to get one other friend of mine interested in the site, but he never signed up. He mostly just wanted to play one particular game, and that was it.
