I don't know if you're only allowed to post Vizzed related stories, but I have a bunch of stories and essays to dump on you guys because I'm good at writing. For this, I'm only going to post a summary of the book I've been reading, The Hobbit.
The Hobbit
The book starts off by describing hobbits and what they are. It then takes you to a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins, who was going to go on an adventure that same week, but didn’t know it yet. His house was visited by a wizard, who was looking for a burglar for his journey. The wizard said that his name was Gandalf, which, according to him, meant, “me.”
You see, hobbits weren’t quite the kind of people who go on adventures, nor did they quite like to. It was obvious that Bilbo did not want to be that kind of burglar. He just wanted to live his ordinary life in peace.
Later that same day, he had been visited by Gandalf, only this time, Gandalf wasn’t alone. He had brought his entire team of about twelve dwarves. I would name them all, but many of them have names that are spelled alike, not to mention it’s hard to remember most of them. After barging in and having some of Bilbo’s food (With him not liking it the whole time he had to serve the twelve dwarves and Gandalf) they began to explain their plan, Bilbo listening in.
It turned out that they were going to slay the dragon Smaug, because he had terrorized the dwarves for many years and stole their gold. Smaug had also stolen the hearthstone, which was the heart of the dwarf kingdom. They needed a burglar to sneak in, learn things about the dragon and find his weakness, and to also get the hearthstone back. That was where Bilbo came in. However, being a Hobbit, he did not want to go, like most Hobbits did. Bilbo had gone to bed around midnight.
The next morning Bilbo had woken up to find them all gone. He wondered if it was a dream for a moment, but then he noticed all the filthy dishes in the sink. He would have never left them there, so he knew that it couldn’t have been a dream. That’s when he noticed the note that had been left on the table, saying that they were going down a specific road and to meet up with them by 11:00 A.M. if he wanted to go. Something inside of him told him to go with them. Next thing he knew, he had joined them on their journey, riding a little pony.
Time passed quickly, and night soon fell. Bilbo was sent out to try and find shelter. What he did end up finding were three trolls. He quickly got noticed by the trolls because he tried to pickpocket them, like what a burglar should do. They began arguing over how they should try to cook and eat him. The other dwarves, sensing that Bilbo was in trouble, because he hadn’t come back, decided to go after him, getting taken by the trolls after they weren’t careful.
They saw that all thirteen of the crew (Gandalf had gone ahead and went missing a while ago) would have made a great meal if cooked. So, they went to build their fire up. However, voices kept arguing about how to cook them, distracting them long enough for the sun to come out and turn the trolls into stone.
Of course, the voices weren’t the trolls, but Gandalf himself. He had to stall them long enough for the sun to rise and to turn them into stone. Gandalf had been looking for their path to Smaug and ended up finding the dwarves and Bilbo by looking back. (Wizards can be so vague sometimes…)
He freed them and they decided to go loot the trolls’ cave to try and see if they could find anything of use. They did manage to find some food and a couple of weapons which had been made by elves. Off they went on their journey; their ponies had been eaten by the trolls so they went by foot. It began to pour rain, however, as they went up the mountains, so they searched for a place to find shelter. They had, luckily, found a cave to stay in for the night.
But unluckily, behind the walls of the cave, it was occupied by goblins, which found the team and captured them. Gandalf had again disappeared. The trolls took the dwarves and Bilbo to their king. The goblins began to pat them down head to toe for any weapons or shiny things that they could get. They found the weapons that they had on them. One of the dwarves, however, had a sword that had been used to slay goblins long ago. Obviously, the goblins hated the sword.
They were just about ready to kill them when Gandalf again appeared in the nick of time. He managed to scare a few off and slay the king, but as they ran, more and more goblins appeared, so Gandalf had to use a few magic explosions. One of the explosions caused Bilbo to get thrown off-balance, and fall down a hole, getting knocked unconscious in the process.
When he woke up, he was in a dark cave with a river flowing down it. He couldn’t see a way out. He thought he was alone, until he heard someone paddling in a boat. (This is where I stopped reading, so I can’t write any more about the book) I don't know if you're only allowed to post Vizzed related stories, but I have a bunch of stories and essays to dump on you guys because I'm good at writing.
