I'd say being alone would be pretty scary. And in honesty, that's sort of what things point to. On no planets have we found any evidence that there was any life. Even on ones that we think could support life. Space is so huge, and research takes so long, that it is an incredible feat to gather...anything. And more often than not, we discover more plain, barren, featureless comets, planets, and stars. And while mind blowing and beautiful, we never find life. And the only real argument for us not being alone is that space is so big that there HAS to be life somewhere. But that just a totally statistical argument.

I believe that to be COMPLETELY alone in the entire universe is scarier. Much scarier. Why? Well, the universe is too big not to have alien life on it. There are sooooo many dots, and it wouldn't make sens if only one, just ONE, out of trillions and trillions of dots, contains life. If the universe is indeed endless, then there is an exact same copy of yourself somewhere...

Honestly I've never thought about it that way but I feel that being alone isn't so bad because there's so many of us. So I potentially fear aliens because they will possibly lead to Earth being overpopulated and may decide not to coexist with us. As ridiculous as a human alien war sounds (not that kind of alien silly) coexisting with a species that may be on the top of the food chain is a scary thought to process.
