I thought it would be fun if I started a riddle forum.  The rules are simple.  The first person states a riddle, then the next person solves it.  Then they post a riddle.

For example:

person 1:  What's black and white and red all over?
person 2:  A newspaper.  What do you have but lose if you share with someone?
person 3:  A secret.

Then person three would post a riddle and so on.

I'll start the first riddle.

What runs but never walks, has a bed but never sleeps, has a mouth but never eats, and with it's mouth it never speaks?

I won't say I'm smart but I know that answer from the GUnslinger series by Stephen King.

It's a river that runs, has a bed, has a mouth.

My turn:

How far can you walk into a forest?

Eniitan : No, no, you're not doing it correctly.

Riddles aren't just random questions that you answer.  They're more like games or jokes that have an actual correct response.

The first one was "What runs, never walks, has a bed, has a mouth..."

A river runs.  A river has a riverbed.  A river has a mouth where the water flows into something else.  So, that's the correct answer.

My question has a specific answer to it, not what you said.

Let's try it again.  I hate to disqualify you, Eniitan because you're very nice, but try again.

"How far can you walk into a forest?"

Let's see if anyone else has answers.  I'll give a hint later if need be.

Ghostbear1111 : You can walk halfway into a forest. This is because after halfway you are walking out of the forest.

We see it once in a year, twice in a week, and never in a day. What is it?

RDay13 : You are referring to the letter "E".

My riddle:  You have a wolf, a rabbit, and a head of lettuce.  You need to get them across a river.  You have a motor boat with only enough gas to make three one way trips.  If you leave the wolf alone with the rabbit, the wolf will eat the rabbit.  If you leave the rabbit alone with the lettuce, the rabbit will eat the lettuce.  How would you get the wolf, rabbit, and lettuce across the river?

elzath42191 : Take them all at once!    But I'm guessing you meant that I can only take two at once.  In that case, there are six possibilities.  I could take the wolf and the rabbit across first, bring the rabbit back, then take the rabbit and lettuce over.  Or I could take the rabbit and the lettuce across first, bring the lettuce back, then take the wolf and the lettuce across last.  But any combination would do, as long as I didn't leave the rabbit and the lettuce or the wolf and the rabbit together alone.
My riddle: A man went onto Reddit to look for potential job applicants.  He was looking for someone honest, that didn't puff himself up or have an inflated ego.  One applicant talked about how he loved his family.  His post had a single upvote.  The next applicant talked about how he loved his dog.  His post also had a single upvote.  The other applicant talked about his car.  His post had a karma score of -1.  Who did the man hire and why?
For those who don't Reddit: "Karma" is given out by upvotes.  Users' posts start with 1 upvote, and other users have the potential to "upvote" or "downvote" a post.  A post, for example, will have 0 upvotes if it is downvoted once, and -1 if it is downvoted twice, if there were no additional upvotes.

supernerd117 : My guess would be he hired the man who talked about his car, because the other two applicants down-voted car guy's application, and car guy didn't down-vote anyone else. Basically car guy was the only one who was honest and didn't go out of his way to hurt the other two applicant's chances.

Ok, this one gave me a little trouble the first time I heard it, so here goes...

The Barber of Seville shaves all men living in Seville.
No man living in Seville is allowed to shave himself.
The Barber of Seville lives in Seville.
Who shaves the Barber of Seville?

Mynamescox44 : Nobody, the barber of Seville is a woman.

Two men play 5 complete games of checkers. Each man wins the same number of games. There are no ties. How?
