So I was thinking about things and other things and I figured, how cool would an awesome trading card game be? I talked a lot about this with van and he forced me to post this.

Imagine a collectible card game that's based on vizzed and its members where you can buy, del, and trade cards and packs to complete your awesome collection which could even come with perks.

There could be a bunch of base cards that are simply cards of users. The front could be their profile pic or a layout pic and their name while the back could be their stats up until then. There could also be side cards, like post syndrome cards, forum based cards, and event cards like foe the TDV, screenshot and video contests, etc. There would also be limited colored variations of each card that have only a certain number of copies and are more valuable.

Getting the cards would be easy, you could get a random card or pack for every certain number of actions like 100 posts, 100 cp, 2000 words, etc. There could even be drops like steam where you get cards based on how long you are online (how many pages viewed) or every hour (or whatever amount of time) a random number of cards would just be distributed to a random number of members. (like 100 cards to 100 members.)

Yo could buy a random pack for a certain amount of viz, and there would be a place where you could just buy individual cards for varying amounts of Viz or you can just trade them or sell them with other users. There could even be a way to cash in duplicates to get new packs.

Completing certain amounts of the set could even get you various perks, like maybe getting 100% can get you another slight boost ik the cp/Viz multiplier, or other % completions could get random perks.

I like it better than site achievements.

We should also be able to trade cards or have a market to buy and sell cards for Viz from other users.

Vanelan : I'm sure that if it had become to much for a market to implement, there could always be threads in the vizzed market forum to buy and sell them.

This is actually the only thing that can help the Viz currency. As it stands, the Viz mostly lack value, seen in the Vizzed Market forum, and many users don't know what to do with them. An incentive like this one would come in handy.

I would really aim for it, I've always been into card games. Plus, maybe this could be the perfect test for the Battle Arena that David has been thinking on for so long.

I found this cool place that lets you make cards, and I'm gonna be at my friends house after I land so I will make a few tests of you two.

Also a cool idea would be to make a new set edition each year so the fun never runs out. Change the users and pics, as well as the stats with each set.

Making a card game instead of the Battle Arena might be a better idea, since the arena seems to be indefinitely on hold.

zanderlex : Yeah, new sets could come out periodically. Every time someone gets his/her rank changed, like after staff or mod apps, or probably after a set amount of time, like after each TdV so we could include more cards than only those who got a banner or overall jersey. After all, within that time period, many users can change their pics and modify their stats, so regular updates would be needed nevertheless.

Vanelan : After all, we would have our own avatars, and the stats have been implemented since long ago. Maybe the rules for playing can be more complicated to determine, but the incredibly less amount of effort needed to make that game instead of the arena is absolutely worth the try. Besides, I've seen quite a few Yu-Gi-Oh online games developed by fans which could very perfectly serve as spring board for this one, just to mention one of the many franchises having a solid TCG.

EX Palen : Doing a new set too often would probably complicate things, every year might work enough, and ranks is something I already included in my tests.

Here's what I've been working on, the thing I'm using lets you make a card with like 5 different types like fire and earth. I thought those, combined with a number system would determine the rarity. Like a base card would be earth and 1, the 1st variation would be water and 2 and would cost like 3-5 times as much.

Instead, here's another idea. The type will determine rarity but the number will be similar to yugioh stars, so for a rank 7 card, lets say geeo for instance, you would need to use up like 2 or 3 cards. Posts could be something like attack and cp would be defense. The gap in attack would determine the base of how many "HP" is lost, but the CP would determine the multiplier. For instance, lets say we have a 1000 post card vs a 800 post card. The damage would 200. But if the CP is 20K vs 15K, the damage could be 250 but if ots 10K vs 15K, the damage could be 150 instead.

zanderlex : Don't complicate it that much, we already have stats in our profiles, which can be modified via Item Shop.

Post and CP count could be used, but with other meanings. Maybe they could be used as a way to limit the decks, like you're only allowed to make decks with at most 70k posts, for example. I'm taking the basis from Urban Rivals, where decks are comprised of just 8 cards, with 4 random ones entering the fray. I think Urban Rivals could be a great spring board for this game.

Anyway, it's a bit soon to think about rules. Let's first wait until this idea receives the green light. If you're open to ideas, I can PM them to you, I don't want to fill this thread with weird thinkings.

The TDV jersey cards could also be bonuses.

A Blue jersey card can offer like 10% to posts and the red can offer 10% to CP.
There could also be jersey winner cards which offer the same but 15% when they are equipped to a user card who won that Jersey.

EX Palen : Oh. I didn't even think of those stats, I guess those could work as well. Also read my above post, but I guess it wouldn't mean anything with your idea.

Sword of Vizzed is more suited to LK. Everybody knows geeo's weapon is the ban hammer.

By the way, I never thought geeo's pic could be that scary... It sends shivers down my spine

EX Palen : It's the killer stare he gives to users before they get a ban. It will always continue to haunt them and as a result of it they won't do anything bad again so they never have to see it again.
