legacyme3 : I'm just telling you the facts of what I see. The quality and quantity goes down in non-TdV months, which is why we've been battling so much to find ways to cure the non-TdV month lulls.

Sure if you are going on complete averages maybe you could make a point on what you are saying, but the main problem here is that no one is hardly posting at all in non-TdV months aside from the most active mods.

Since you can't judge quality by a number, all you can do is be subjective about it. That makes the quality issue more a matter of opinion than fact.

That was not something I expected, I didn't expect to win the yellow jersey while at the same time not see janus score any points for it, so I was able to get a huge advantage for that overall jersey. The same thing is happening today sp far as well, maybe I can get a bit closed to the yellow which isn't something I thought id be able to go did when the month first began.

Well, I got blue yesterday, and now I got a green today. It's strange, the only jerseys I've gotten this month have been blue and green. Usually by now I have a few red jerseys. I'll get one eventually (I hope).

Well now I remember why sometimes I get discouraged when doing these TdV's. Because it's gotten to the point that rather than helping the site out with great content, people find every loophole they possibly can to place high in the TdV. Really just puts a damper on what the whole thing is about.

Now don't get me wrong, this just didn't start this months TdV. It's been building for awhile.

But for those that asked why I didn't compete as much these days in the prior TdVs (other than the last two)...well this would be it.

zanderlex : yeah, I was too busy having a life yesterday by listening to the Republican debate . But do not think you have won just yet; I still finish in the daily top 5 so I keep accumulating points.

Jordanv78 : then join the conversation I started about having stricter rules on posting. Let us see what suggestions you want to bring to make it better.

janus : The problem isn't as much people posting. It's the other stuff that people are doing to constantly walk the line between breaking the rules or not. I've made my feelings pretty clear in this thread and other threads. I see limited need to repeat my self in your thread.

I'm think I'm going to be stuck with a 10th overall as the best I'm going to do again this time. I just haven't had the motivation to post like I did last month.

I'm hoping to pick things up over the 2nd half of the month but I don't know how that'll go.

And the reward for ranting about my personal life is... Three yellow points!

Honestly, I'm not even trying to place and I'm doing almost better than the only time I tried. If I end up understanding this one day I'm confident the Nobel prize will be mine.

janus : Actually, the Blue jersey isn't the one where DQs happen more frequently. During my tenure as staff, I've seen more DQs from Red than Blue. This is probably because there are rules limiting posts, but almost nothing limiting CP, which makes some users go over the edge more easily than with Blue.

Jordanv78 : I know it won't make you feel better, but that happens in every competition. Some people only care for themselves, and what happens to everyone else or the place they belong to is nothing of their business. You know we have banned people for having this attitude all year long on the site, so more people displaying this attitude towards a competition isn't surprising, sadly.

EX Palen : I hear ya man. I know that there is always someone pushing the limits of the rules, but in this instance it seems that several of the users that are always placing high have lost the point of what the TdV was supposed to be in the first place. Just sad is all. I wish we could go back to the way it was a few years ago.

EX Palen : Really? I am surprised. Considering the many opportunities for spam (and posting in the same thread), I though it would be blue.

Well, I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to get a jersey today, but I'll at least try to get some points. I need to start scoring points on a daily basis if I want to reach the 1000 point milestone by the end of the month.

as long as the results hold up I got 9 points from yesterday!!!! I wish I knew who was in 11th place so I could tell if I had to worry about getting passed.

Still, with how the competition has slowed I could totally pass a few people if I can get another couple 5-10 point days. 10th place isn't the only thing to strive for now!

assuming that the results hold up, I got the exact same points as the day before, and finished in the same positions as that day as well. I didn't expect something like that to happen. Still, getting another green jersey added to my collection is nice.

After thinking about it, I think I'll take a break from the TDV today. I've been going all out in green these last few days, but today, I see a lot of users going all out for jerseys. I'll save my strength for another day.
