I am wanting to begin writing a fan fiction series but I don't know exactly how to start. I have a general story plan but I don't know how exactly I should write it (like format and spacing and stuff) and where I should upload it or anything like that.

It's basically a new entry in Persona that my brother and I were going to turn into a RPG Maker game but due to restraints (as in neither of us code or do graphics and we coudln't find anyone to help that could either) we decided to scrap the game. Now, I don't want our ideas to die (seeing as the story connects every incident from Persona - Persona 4 together in one huge storyline whilst having a diverse and unique cast of characters, according to us anyways) so I want to create a fan fiction of it. I have the first small part of the prologue (set before the events of Persona 1) but I really want someone's opinion on it and how I can improve it and stuff before I continue and before I finish. Any fanfic writers out there, if you could please give me tips on how to be a better fanfic writer then please, give them to me. This is what I have typed so far.

Persona AceThe rain pours hard on the roof of the
building that sits on the hill. The thunder sounds off loud, with a
bellowing rage. The lightning flashes bright lights from above the
clouds. The ground is soaking wet, the floor inside the building
flooding due to holes in the roof. But, the water from the rain
wasn't the only thing wetting the floor. It was only wet by the
people who resided within.
“Come closer Alexander,” a young
boy said. He was wearing a white shirt and had long, flowing blonde
hair. His eyes were blue, but a very light blue color. He looked
rather young, like an elementary school child.
The other child, Alexander, sat still
like he had not heard the young boy. After a minute, he looked up and
had tears in his eyes. He stood abruptly and ran to the young boy's
side.
“Big brother Michael, I'm scared,”
Alexander cried. Alexander looked near identical to his brother
Michael. Their features exactly the same, except Alexander wore a
blue shirt and had shorter hair.
“Big brother Michael, why are we
still here? It's cold and wet. Mum isn't back yet?”
“No, Alexander, I'm afraid Mum isn't
back yet. We'll just have to wait. I'm sure she'll be here soon.
She'll be here soon.”
“I hope so. I'm so cold Michael. I'm
so cold.”
As Alexander says this he re-positions
himself and moves closer to Michael in an attempt to warm himself up.
Michael moves one arm to wipe away
tears from his eyes. He isn't crying because the building is wet and
he is cold. Rather he is crying for an entirely different reason. He
is crying because he knows the truth, the truth that he hasn't told
Alexander for a reason.
The two brothers, twins actually, were
born to a rich English family in 1989. However, they were never
loved. Michael remembers this, although Alexander represses the
memory. Their father fell ill a few years later and passed away in
1994. Their mother, who hated their guts, left them in a deserted,
abandoned building in the English countryside.
Michael tried his best to stay strong
through it all, he tried to stay strong for his brother. But he
couldn't forever and he knew that. After living there for a couple of
months, the cold air was getting the better of them and they were
both sick.
They lied down, they tried to sleep,
but the intense cold was preventing them from drifting off. Saying
prayers, they were huddled together in the middle of the night,
thinking that there was a chance, a hopefully very slight chance,
that this could be their last night. They came to grips with that
harsh reality but still wanted to stop it from coming true.
And then they heard a loud crash.
At first they were not alerted to the noises. Maybe its because they were trying to ignore everything and
focus on keeping warm, maybe it was because they thought it was a
part of the storm that they couldn't escape from.

My advice would be make sure you watch enough persona to know the characters. And who you would put in. So then when you make your own fan fiction it will be ideas that comes from you. Now it won't be easy to start off any ideas that come to you write it own on a notebook or on your phone quickly. Writing fan fictions are not always easy it takes time and patient to do these things if you rush it. It won't be the best of the best that people would enjoy reading. Still keep it from the anime but with ideas and story plots come from you. You could lets see focus on only a few characters and the main character say something a bit about them to get things going. From reading this. It is going really well so far and I enjoyed reading it even though I have not seen persona myself.

Not every fan fiction is perfect only make it for people who will enjoy reading it. And I enjoyed reading this. ^^

Eniitan : Thanks. I am have played Persona 1, 2, 3 and 4 (a little of Q) and I am going to watch Persona: Trinity Souls before I continue. I have designed the characters already (as far as personality and situations go) and I am very pleased with them so far. As far as the plotline itself, aside from the references to previous entries in the series (Persona is a subseries of Shin Megami Tensei and a very good one too. You can play 1 and 2 on this site as they are PSX games) it is its own story in its entirety.

Spoiler Alert:

The story is very interesting because it involves a cyber world, mixed memories, multiple personalities and other stuff. Each Persona series is based around a central theme, though I only know that 3 is Death and 4 is Truth (I think) Persona Ace is Reality because the entire story takes place in "Reality" and "Egality" (Egality being a world built inside the cyberspace which is revealed to actually be the world that holds and connects the subconscious minds of all human beings) which actually all takes place in the mind of the Protagonist (Nagato Matoi) whilst in a coma that was induced by events that occured in the beginning of the story only instead of him escaping it like he did in the plot he actually doesn't. (Hint: He gets ran over in real life after meeting his best friend Yamanoto Shisuke in the real world, whom no one even remembers after Matoi wakes up from his coma and starts wondering where his friends went. The scary part is, they all exist in the real world in some way and retain some memory from the events that took place in Matoi's mind while he was in a coma because Egality actually exists so everything that happened in Egality they all still hold in their subconscious mind.

As the game description originally stated

"Persona: Ace is more than a simple story. It is an epic detailing the lives of a group of students who must face reality head on, without knowing if it is real or not. In a tale of friends, explore the dark depths of humans minds and their corruptions while exploring the subconscious world known as Egality to learn that the differences between what is real and what is not are not always clear. Experience the tale of love and hate, trust and betrayal, truth and lie, and the impact that these have on people. Journey to the depths of the soul in an attempt to save the world and tap into the inner self in order to discover who you really are. Discover, your Persona!"

P.S. The main cast consists of: (In Last Name First Name Japanese style)

Protagonists:
Nagato Matoi
Yamanoto Shisuke
Tabane Haku (Who is the illegitimate child of the father of one of the main characters of Persona 3. Non-canon of course.)
Hidashi Arisa
Kitsurugi Yamato
Sakura Kiru
Neko Fuugito
Sonoto Michael

Protagonist's Helpers:
Igor (From the other Persona games)
Sonoto Alexander (Who helps Igor in the Velvet Room which in Persona is the center of the Persona ability and in Ace was created by the Sonoto Twins.)
Hizan Takagura (A member of the bad guys that secretly helps out the party and retires from the bad guys (Nightwalkers) after being "saved" by the group)

Main Antagonists: (Keeping it simple so other than the twelve nightwalkers)
Nagato Reiji
Hatsurame Chiyo
Adachi Koutetsu

Nightwalkers: (Instead of listing their full names, because they don't all have them yet [suggestions appreciated] these are their codenames. Which is just the Japanese names of the months without 'tsu')
Ichiga
Niga
Sanga
Shiga
Goga
Rokuga
Sichiga
Hachiga (This one is Hizan Takagura, the one that becomes a good guy.)
Kuga
Juuga
Juuichiga
Juuniga

That was a lot of typing.

Fun Fact:
The NIghtwalker Juuniga is the leader, Hatsurame Chiyo, which is not the same one under the antagonists list because they are two different people from two different families, one being from Reality, the other a creation of fragmented memories from Egality.

Another Fun Fact:
Reiji and Matoi are not actually brothers. Matoi is the son of Nagato Jinsei, a world renowned scientist that created a device that would allow the subconscious mind of humans to enter Egality. The was stolen by Nyarlathotep, who wanted to cause chaos between humans but could not do so directly, so that he could destroy humans from inside. Jinsei expected someone to want to steal the device when they found out about it and installed an AI capable of actual human thoughts by borrowing the thoughs and emotions embedded in all the minds that exist withing Egality. He named it Reiji (which means Courteous Child) as he was to be the protector of memory and Egality as well as helper to mankind, however Nyarlathotep caused a glitch in the AI causing him to draw from the malevolence of the humans minds instead. From this point until the climax of the story, he takes on the alias Ranmyaku (which means Chaos)
