So last night, I saw this article that can be found here: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2592933-bengals-de-wallace-gilberry-surprises-family-of-7-by-buying-playstation-4-games

As the link says, it's basically about Bengals defensive end Wallace Gilberry surprising a family with a random act of kindness by buying them a PS4, games and a controller. I like seeing stories like that about professional sports players doing stuff like that for people. What do you think about this, and has anyone on your favorite team, NFL or from another sport, done anything like that this year that you know of?

You know, I wish that this sort of stuff was the norm to where people don't make a big deal every time a rich athlete gives something, or is nice to someone in need. Similar to when Lebron acknowledged that handicapped kid the other day before the game, then gave him game worn shoes after the game.

With regards to this act of kindness though, that is very nice of him to do that. More athletes should realize that they need to give back to the community since they are getting paid millions of $ to play a kids game.

That's really cool, not only is he spending money on people he doesn't know, but he's taking his own time to do that. He cold have easily just mailed something or done something somewhere else like a stadium as part of a promotion, but he actually went into a target to scope out a family to surprise and that's cool.

Guys like this is what makes it hard for people to hate on athletes, yea.. Some are a**h***s and are on there to get theirs. But, then theres guys like this, who uses his own time, his own money to give to a family a gift. These kind of things literally cost pennies to them, but it's still nice to see this kind of thing from an athlete!

Sort of reminded me about what P.K. Subban did this year (Defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens in the NHL) who donated $10,000,000 to a hospital in Montreal, which is  just about as much as he makes a year. That's an entire year of his life, working every day to make himself better in the sport he plays, going towards a hospital. If only all athletes were as good/nice as these guys they wouldn't have such a bag stigma on them.

I love reading stories like that. I think that it is true, money does not buy happiness but I think it does give you and your family stability and time to focus on more valuable things in life. I like to see people give and help the less fortunate specially families. I read a story of T.I. (the rapper) also going into a local store and paying for the family's gifts and bought them an Xbox One. I think this should happen more often and have more publicity. Giving back is what should the holidays be more about.

I'll admit, I don't like that this is something of a surprise. Not saying that it shouldn't be, given how most rich people can be, but I just wish it wasn't such a surprise whenever it happened (which is much less often than should be the case, to be blunt). Either way, it's still a really nice thing he does, and doing so directly only makes it that much better.
