So, this is just a quick explanation of what this forum is for (feel free to clarify anything I'm about to say and we can update it).

This forum is for news and current events (either local to you or worldwide) that you think are interesting or noteworthy or controversial. The main difference I want this forum to have compared to the debate forum is that this forum is for posting news without having to argue, debate or defend the post. You don't have to have an opinion one way or the other when you post it. You can just post something you saw and see what others think without having to argue or debate anyone.

With that being said I want to have a few rules to start off with:
1. Always post a link to the article/story you are referring to. It's hard to follow along with something if we can't see the origin of it. You can also post the video of a news story into your thread. Please make sure to use as professional of videos as possible since this is a news related forum. Amateur videos should be well made and as clean as possible.
2. Do not argue or debate with the original or subsequent poster in the thread. You are free to post your opinion (and even rebut other people's viewpoints) but do not make multiple posts in an attempt to argue for or against something. People should feel comfortable posting a news article or their opinion on it without feeling the need to defend it. That is what the debate forum is for.
3. No flaming/personal attacks etc. This one is obvious but will be more strictly enforced here. There is no need to point out someone you think is wrong or attack their opinion. You can disagree with the article/story viewpoint all you want but don't attack other members of the site.
4. If your news story is better suited for another forum (movies, sports, music etc) then please post your news in those forums instead of in this forum. That might eliminate a lot of possible threads for this forum but this forum shouldn't steal from those forums either. Use your best judgement about whether or not to post in this forum. If you aren't sure post here and a mod can move it later if need be.

That's about all so far. If anyone has any other suggestions or clarifications of these rules feel free to reply to this thread and I'll update them as needed.

Would it be ok to post a link to a video about the news in the thread's we make, or does it have to be a link to an actual article?

gamerforlifeforever2 : I suppose a video relating to the issue would also be okay. Try to pick as professional of videos as possible. From a news report if possible rather than an amateur made video.
