Hello all and long time no see to all my friends. Sorry but life has been crazy hectic the past three months. Have had a lot happening including : weddings, funerals, birth of grand kids and nieces, and the loss of a pet. So to begin with sorry I have not been on. Hope all of you are doing very well and having a great Thanksgiving. With that said I'll now get to why I made this thread but bear with me while I set this up for ya'll.
I am not by nature a very emotional person ... in fact if it is not in writing form I have a hard time expressing any emotions other than happy or angry. Right now I am at a loss as to what to do. I recently went through the loss of a couple of very close members of my family and the worst part about it we had a falling out so the last time I saw them it went badly. Plus on top of that earlier in the week I had to put down my male pitbull named Duece. He was almost 13 years old and he died of cancer. He was like my right arm ... everywhere I went he was with me. Now I'm just lost and honestly I feel like screaming. Sorry I know I'm whining but I really needed this. So let me ask my question and I'll leave with wishes for all to have a great day.

Ok my question is how would/what you do to deal with the loss of beloved pets and family?

This is my personal belief but it does help me in tough times - I believe there is life after death. I believe that I will see grandparents/parents/friends etc etc again at some point. This makes losing them here easier to deal with. Not pain free by any stretch of the imagination but easier.

Pets are tougher in a way because they are so loyal. They follow you around and are always there. They are tough to replace because no other pet is quite the same. I've lost pets though and the only thing I find that helps is time and a new pet. You have to fill the void with something else or the void only gets bigger.

Maybe I'm a bit more unfeeling but I would cry, I'd remember the good times and laugh about it, and I'd move on.  Those people and that dog don't want you moping around and feeling sorry for yourself.  And they don't care about how they feel because they're dead.  Who knows what happens after life but for us, we're still here and it doesn't matter.

Feel bad, get those emotions working, make peace with yourself and move on.  There's still a lot of life to live and experience.  Maybe you can do something to honor their memory or have a special place to go and remember being with them so their deaths don't influence your regular every day life.

I can't tell you what to do.  I can only tell you I simply feel sad and get back to what I was doing before.
