mvhupsel : Don't worry man, I'm not at all offended or upset by any of this. I find it quite amusing actually. I might be upset if someone I actually care about decided that they hate me now because of a shirt, but the only people giving me crap have been people I don't even know that well. All my male friends love the shirt, my dad loves it, and my step mom loves it. Haven't even shown my mom yet lol. My one female friend hasn't commented on it but just posted a picture of me and my two friends on Instagram with the caption "Favorite guys in my life #squad #favoritepeopleever" so I don't think she's fazed by it lol. So yeah people (specifically Gianna) have been rude and nasty to me but it honestly doesn't bother me at all.

Vanelan : If that's what 90% of people that identify as feminists are, then that's what the feminist movement has become. The dictionary definition of the word may be about equality, but it's the actions of a movement that define what the movement truly stands for.

Vanelan : Well, both I guess. I mean they constantly bully people who disagree with them. But these are people that are professional feminists - as in they make a career out of it. And they are exactly like the people I described. They are abusive, anti-male, controlling, etc.

There is a reason feminism is like this now though. There is nothing else for these women to fight for, so they have to bring up tiny things like the air conditioning in their offices being too cold and therefore sexist, or harp on things that don't even exist like the patriarchy or rape culture. The fact of the matter is, women and men are practically equal. There are some instances where women are disadvantaged, sure, but for every female disadvantage in society there is a male disadvantage as well. So the majority of feminists now, at least from what I have seen on Twitter, Tumblr, and real life, are just control freaks with victimhood complexes.

Now I'm sure you aren't just playing devil's advocate here. If you consider yourself a feminist and you aren't an illogical misandrist psycopath I'd love to know why.

Please also note everything I am talking about refers to first-world countries like the US and the UK. I'm not oblivious to the fact that women are treated unfairly in places like Africa and the Middle East, and I would be all for a feminist revolution in those regions. It seems thst most feminists don't even care though. In fact, these regions weren't brought up at all in the two days that I wore the shirt. All I heard about was how we live in a patriarchy and how women get paid less (because they choose lower playing jobs) and how women are afraid to walk home at night (even though men are 6x more likely to be murdered and 3x more likely to be assualted) and stuff like that.

I agree with you; men and women are more or less equal in first world countries...but there needs to be action taken in third world countries to stop the mistreatment of people based on gender.

The term feminist seems to have been hijacked by these "control freaks with victimhood complexes" as you put it.
A true feminist would be fighting for the rights of those women that are actually treated unfairly in other countries.

I wouldn't label myself as a feminist only because I don't actively do anything to fix the problem of gender inequality. However, I wholeheartedly support REAL feminists that are fighting for equality.
I don't think I am a psychopath, and I am fairly sure I am not a misandrist...I don't hate my own gender. ^^;

I wouldn't consider any of the women you named in your previous reply to be feminists. "Professional Feminists" translates to me as self-serving misandrists using the title feminist to sucker in idiots that think feminism is the hatred of men, like that is supposed to somehow level the playing field. The only thing it seems to do is fill their bank accounts as these sheep buy their books or read their blogs. What have they actually done to get equality for women?

Some people who call themselves feminists don't even care about actual feminism.They just want to tout their superiority, whether their male or female, because they're speaking for a cause, and anyone who disagrees is just a hater who's opinion doesn't even deserve to be considered.



I consider myself someone you could call a feminist, I guess, but, I prefer to focus on the little things.Lots of these big issues people keep pointing out aren't even valid anymore, but, there are still subtle things that are still skewered.I prefer to look at things from the other party's shoes, think about how I would feel about certain things if I were in their position.Not start randomly complaining about or dismissing things I think are fun to complain about or hate on.

They are far more extreme than the intention of feminism. That was not, and still is not, the goal of feminism.

It is true that there's still inequality. There is no such thing as a perfect balance, however people might think it so. There are sexual offenses, objectifications, etc. going on every day. Where I disagree with feminism, however, is the same place I tend to disagree with movements such as #BlackLivesMatter. Did it ever come to your attention that men are also victims of such things? Is it more rare? Absolutely it is. But that's only all the more reason to raise awareness against sexual assault as a whole, instead of sexual assault against females specifically. And I'm not saying that this legitimate movement is WRONG, per say. I just think that they try to pinpoint things too much. As with many things (especially religion and politics), this is the easiest way to bring in faux-group personnel who pretend to be spreading the movement, while they're actually plaguing it with lies that those who are outside looking in see immediately, as opposed to the true intention of the movement, group, etc.

Feminism is a word that encapsulates femininity, but feminism, as a movement, is something attributed to anything people disagree with.

Feminism is a crucial movement to allow focus on the inequality towards women, but without support, it will constantly be misunderstood, and lead by various politics that do not care about equality or feminism, but rather to prolong the status quo, not unlike various MRAs.

really? Feminism in North America is a joke. Any suggestion otherwise is a joke. They don't live in reality and are no longer necessary.

If Feminists want to right real fights for equality they need to stop wasting time and go to places like Africa or the Middle East where women are still second class citizens. Otherwise they won't have any respect from people like me.
