This has been a very long week for me. Even though a lot of my school drama came to an end, I'm still having major problems and things keep coming up. I find it harder not to let my stress get to me and it's nearing the end of the trimester, so I have a bunch of projects and exams to worry about. I was supposed to get the outline for my English project done tonight but I need to use a specific website that requires a toolbar for me to do things right. The toolbar refused to download after trying multiple times in hours so I have to ask my teacher for in-class time tomorrow. We're supposed to have our whole speech ready by Monday and I can't even get my outline done yet...

Also, even though I have had great school days this week (for the most part), I keep feeling drained when I get home, being tired and finding it hard to be happy. I'm even having trouble being happy listening to all the upbeat Christian music I love listening to so I know something is seriously wrong. I feel a little better when going places with my family like I did today and last night, but when I get back home that mini-depression feeling sets in again. With all the homework I have and all the planning I need to do for certain classes, I keep feeling burned out. Even though the music doesn't make me feel better, it helps me do my work, and it's the only thing that makes me motivated to do it without procrastinating.

Today I almost lost it because my younger brother got the toilet clogged and kept flushing it, so my basement was flooded. I was in my room at the time so I found out about it by hearing my mom and my brother scream at each other. In the past few weeks, I have heard so much arguing from so many people so I've been feeling like being alone and running away from the arguments. Then my mom and dad kept laying down bad news on me. I knew I shouldn't hide how I felt from them so I let them know I didn't want to hear it without even saying a word. They took the hint, thankfully.

I honestly can't wait for this trimester to be over since I've had to deal with way more than I've ever been able to handle before. As I have mentioned before (in multiple threads), I was put in charge of my entire class in my leadership class (JROTC). My assistant that I had issues with is no longer my assistant so that problem is over. However, one of my instructors keeps losing his patience with me and multiple classmates of mine seem to be as well. After all I have gone through this trimester as a leader, I've decided that I won't go for any leadership position (not even the lowest one) next trimester since I really need a break. I'll have to talk to my instructors about it and I hope they will understand. If they don't, I'm just going to hope that I still don't get a role. I've noticed that I need to work on my follower-ship, and I don't want to be a leader in that class if I'm going to keep feeling targeted and under-appreciated by my peers. Plus most people are constantly pointing out my flaws that they want to make me fix, but they aren't pointing out my positives. My old assistant even said I need to give her something positive before she can say something positive and that I have no leadership to respect.

I don't think that what people are saying is true, but I can't really prove them wrong. Just 2 more weeks and I can (hopefully) be done with all this and go back to my normal life that's actually fun.

I'm sorry you're having such a rough time.  We all go through times like these, and what we do in these times helps define us.  I'll be praying that you have the strength to make it through this time well, and to find ways to have joy despite the problems.

Ugh, the ups and downs of school life. I am so glad it is over! If I can give you any advice: do not over do it. Spending entire nights (I am glad I have never tried it) are counterproductive since your brain will not function optimally. When you feel like you are reading the same paragraph over and over or that you can not write something, do something else: take a walk, lie down, play video games (for a short time ). THIS is a vital trick that is given to writer; if you review your work right after you wrote it you already know "everything" about it and will skip mistakes.

Also, depending on the latitude you live at, the decrease in daylight has an effect on mood. I have noticed it recently; I feel more tired even though I sleep the same number of hours than during summer. There exists lamps to fight seasonal blues (I once saw those at Costco). Try it.

School has a ton of hard times, they sometimes come out of nowhere to strike you with great force.

The use of specific websites sometimes puts me on my nerves as well. Most often than not, school (or university in my case) puts you through projects that are one hell to deal with.

I can understand you're stressed for not being able to do your fun life, but think that these rough moments are temporary. You should see being able to have fun as a well-earned prize for your hard work. Trust me, you enjoy more your free time after you know you have done your work well.

Keep it up, man. Nobody said it was an easy path, but we all have been through it, and if we could pass it, why couldn't you?

Ouch, school can suck. I know the feeling, man, when it seems like every class is just ready to demolish you with work at the end of a semester/trimester. I hope you get everything sorted out!

Sorry to hear that things are so stressful for you in school.. I totally understand how that can be. Trust me, Adult life is the same exact way. I hope that things calm down a little bit for you soon so things aren't so stressful.

Just make sure to take a little time here and there for yourself. You don't want to get yourself so depressed and miserable by always doing work. Trust me, your work will suffer from that if you let it go on too long.

Keep your head up! It will get better soon!

supernerd117: I know I'll make it I needed that prayer and it worked. Today I've had a much better day, but my stress is returning because I have to work very hard on 2 school projects during the weekend and I got home late. The teachers are making these projects go very fast!

janus : I've been doing the opposite:
under-doing it XD But I'm trying hard not to over-do it. I have to dedicate many hours a day to homework but I'm taking a lot of short breaks from it, not always on purpose. I was supposed to have an honors class to add to the mix this trimester but I intentionally dropped out of it due to my staff role on vizzed. (Yeah, I'm that desperate to keep it for a long time ) I've had that decrease in daylight for the past couple weeks but I think it just starting affecting me a few days ago.

EX Palen : I'm sure that it'll be more difficult to take free time for granted after all this is over

SWTerra : At least it isn't always like this at the beginning of the trimester, that would be way worse. And so would my grades XD

PacmanandMariofan : Yes, keeping the focus can be very tedious especially for boring subjects like Calculus. If it exists, do not hesitate to attend "remedial" classes (not sure how to translate that one) where people who might have the same questions will show up.

And I salute your dedication to Vizzed; hopefully it will not affect your grades.

PacmanandMariofan :

I'm very sorry to hear all of that. :/ When you're a leader or "in a position of power," people tend to nitpick at everything you do. Think about politics and how world leaders are combed over meticulously for errors and have flaws thrown in their face. I think society just expects every leader to be the textbook I-can-handle-it-all Viking warrior I-feel-nothing type leader, even for small things. And even when people aren't placing enormous amounts of "wow you're flawed" in your face, they're still relying on you and looking to you. I'm not sure what you're a leader of, but at least you can say you were chosen to be one, which most people can't. It's hard to look on the bright side of things when you're so depressed, I know, but try to stay positive. Two more weeks and it's over and you can breathe.

Yuna1000 : I appreciate your prayers I had a pretty nice Halloween weekend so I feel a lot better now, but I had to get to my homework just today. Thankfully I got all of the necessary homework done. The other homework I have plenty of time over the week for!

writingwolves : I once had expectations like that for my leaders, but immediately that changed after I got to be in that position myself. I know I'm privileged to be able to be a leader, but it's pretty weird because the person who chose me at a leader pretty much hates my guts right now. XD By the way, what I'm in charge of is the activities we do, making sure the rules of the class are enforced, and making sure that everyone learns the material as soon as possible.

PacmanandMariofan :

Well, when you put it like that, it's no wonder there's animosity. You're just doing your job and your job happens to be "the bad guy." :/ I'm super sorry dude. I hope things get better for you, and forget what other people think. I know that's extremely hard to do, but believe me, you're not an awful person so don't feel like one.
