If you ask me, this game is really sweet. I was able to get this game really cheap, like 10 cents somewhere and after looking at its steam page to see what it was like, I knew that I had to get it because it looked like it was going to be a really fun puzzle game. The first time I played it, I played it with one of my friends next to me and we worked together trying to figure out the levels and we ended up letting like 3 hours pass by playing it because we were having so much fun.

GRAPHICS 8/10

The graphics are actually somewhat good looking even though its just a bunch of blocks and some houses, people, and trees. There’s a ton of cool colors and the animation and physics are actually really really good looking. With this game, you need to color blocks and when you color them and connect them to a paint source, the blocks that are all connect will stay in place while ones that are not will fall. So there’s a pretty good falling animation because once things start to fall, the physics cause everything to start tumbling and collapsing over each other. There are also red blocks which float and the animations for this work really well too. As for the rest of how the game looks, you have a cool background, you have a fun looking map, and overall everything just looks pretty pleasing and for a grade, graphics is going to get an 8 out of 10.

SOUND 8/10

The sounds of the game are pretty fun as well. When you are in the map, you have a song playing that is fun to listen to. It kind of puts you into a calm mood, the kind that I feel an actual artist would probably listen to while working on something. While you are in a game, you have another song that is kind of similar and very peaceful and tranquil, which clears your head. As for random noises, there’s a little here and there when you paint blocks and when someone says something, though there isn’t actually any talking, just a few sounds like hey and woo hoo thrown around the game. Overall, the sound is nice and for a grade, it’s going to get another 8 out of 10.

ADDICTIEVENESS 10/10

This game is really fun, especially if you like puzzle games and even if you don’t then you still might find yourself playing this game a lot. When I was playing with my friend, no matter how late it was, whenever we finished playing a level we would say to ourselves just one more level and by the time we finished that level, we would say the same thing over again because we were having so much fun. A good puzzle game can be very addicting and that’s exactly what this game is. I already played more than 30 levels over the course of three worlds and I haven’t lost interest in the game yet because it’s a very clever concept and the execution is amazing. The game is very addicting and for a grade, this category gets a perfect 10 out of 10.

STORY 7/10

There is a story, but it’s kind of a crazy one if you ask me. The plot of the game is about how it’s impossible to build houses in the cubes that float in the sky so some wizard guy invented a special paint that holds the cubes together so houses can be built in them. But the paint starts to dry leaving the houses vulnerable and it’s your job to repaint all of the cubes before all the houses in the world start to fall out of the sky and into a place nobody ever wanted to see again. The earth. So, the story behind the game is pretty funny, but the actual game play and what you do in the story is amazing. Overall I like the story and it fits in really well and for a grade, it’s going to get a 7 out of 10.

DEPTH 9/10

I would have to say that the game has a lot of depth, and by that I mean a lot of levels. I am about half way through the 3rd world and I have already gone through so many levels, though you never know how many worlds there are in total until you beat them because you can’t see the next world. I thought the 1st world was the only one until I beat it and saw that there was another one. In total, I have already completed 28 main levels and 5 bonus levels. I have also skipped 6 bonus levels, since those are actually quite hard so that means that I have already encountered nearly 40 fun levels and who knows how many more there might be. There’s different things that you can do in each level too, so far there’s two different kinds of basic paint that will keep the blocks together which are blue and green, and there’s also red paint which will cause the painted blocks to float and that adds a whole lot more to the experience of the game. In total, the game has a lot to offer when it comes to depth, and for a grade, this aspect is going to get a 9 out of 10.

DIFFICULTY 2

For the most part, the game couldn’t be any easier. There will be plenty of levels that you will beat on the first try because all you really need to do is trace out a path that would work the best and then fill in that path with the paint. There will be a time where you need to actually think like how you use the red paint because you have to figure how the blocks will float and where they will tilt and whatever which can be somewhat confusing and will require more than a few tries. The on top of that, you have the bonus levels which will require a lot of thinking. There was one bonus level that took us about half an hour to complete and more than 30 or so tries because we just couldn’t figure it out. For the most part, the game is easy, even if you aren’t good with logic and stuff, you can easily make it through the first 20 or so levels with no more than 1 or 2 problems. For difficulty, this game is going to get a 2.

OVERALL 8.5

Overall, this game is really a blast. I was able to get the game for just a dime but it’s not like the game is normally expensive, the game is on sale now for the weekend for just $4 before it goes back to $8 and even at the full price, it’s really worth it. I already have a couple hours done in this game and the amount of fun I had so far would totally be worth the $4 and I’m pretty sure that I’m not even near half way done with the game, so if you have a chance to get the game, I suggest that you do. Overall, it was a really fun game and my grade for Ubinota is going to be an 8.5 out of 10.

A puzzle game with a plot? That sounds interesting. Anyway this was another good review of your zander, with solid structure and good details about the game. Since you talk about "falling cubes": can it be compared to Tetris in anyway?

janus : It can never be compared to Tetris, Tetris is nothing compared to this game, plus it's fun. If the game took place on the ground I guess it would be similar in a way, but if the cubes fall, then you die so I guess that's the complete opposite of Tetris.
