Hi! ^^ My name is Yuna1000 and this is my Newbie Thread! Somehow, I became Site Staff before actually introducing myself as a newbie on Vizzed, so I thought I would finally post a proper introduction.

I first discovered Vizzed while searching for Super Mario World (SNES), since I actually own the game and was curious if the Vizzed RGR Plugin actually worked as described. Super Mario World is one of my favorite games of all time, and I wondered if there were others that shared that interest as well. After seeing that Vizzed had pretty much everything, I invited a dear friend of mine that loved Pokémon. We pretty much joined the site together and I was finally able to see what Pokémon was. XD lol This may come as a surprise to some of you but I wasn’t the typical gamer until I arrived at Vizzed. Never played Pokémon? How did you even-? (I watched the original anime episodes and a few of the movies with my Pokémon friend.) Never played Zelda? Well, I helped other people beat their Dragon Ball games (Japanese version no less), does that count? To explain fully, we have to rewind quite a few years. They came to me when they got stuck on a boss that seemed to have no weaknesses, so I just broke a few of the walls and voila! death by ice. I don’t know why they came to me when I hadn’t even seen the Dragon Ball manga/anime yet, but somehow it worked out. The same thing happened when some male friends invited me to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with them. I had never played the game before but managed to take down all of their turtles with a flying girl fairy that I chose just to remain a girl and just thought looked nice. It turned out I was activating her special, which they’d never seen before/gotten to work. It would sweep over the screen and squish them in a corner. oO In the end, because so many of them were playing as the girl instead ( they were converted so quickly), I also had to figure out the counter to that special just to keep them from using it too much. I guess they must’ve realized I actually loved games for all that I pretty much never played (books took precedence above all else), so they decided to give me a few games of Donkey Kong Country, which I still treasure like every game that actually finds its way to me. If it wasn’t that some parts of the games (booklets, cases, etc.) had already been discarded, I would have kept every part of them in mint condition. There was also that one birthday party where we all played arcade games and I spent most of the money I was given on Ms. Pacman. We actually had to play until all the birthday money we had been given (solely for the purpose of playing the arcade games) ran out, or we had to return it. I’m just glad I found Ms. Pacman again on Vizzed.

Then, there were those two weeks when my friends asked if I wanted to play Counter-Strike using their account. I was ecstatic to finally be able to try a shooting game. I found out in the 2 weeks I stayed with them that I actually enjoy shooting games a lot and that people will run away from you when you choose the class that explodes upon being hit. Even before Gun Gale Online came out, I was trying to master grenade hugs. I must have been playing before the servers were overrun with hackers, because I only really remember one hacker that was sniping off everyone else from the top of a roof.

This was pretty much how my game life always was before I found MMOs, just occasionally being invited to play (troubleshoot?) games with friends on their consoles (and that one time for CS on their Steam account). For the people that say there are no girls on the internet, well, they’re probably looking at the wrong characters then. I played to help my friend (male account) level a few times that week. To the people that were watching me at the end of the rounds, I must’ve appeared male, since no one asked if I was actually female.

After that, I tried MMOs like Ragnarok Online (because it looked cute), and Gunz Online because it had sword AND gun Combinations (K-Style FTW) and because I wanted to skate in Snow Town. In my very first MMO ever, I had realized that one of my favorite things to do in any game is to start a dancing festival in the middle of a town. People would always join the dancing no matter what, regardless of level or experience.

By this point, it may be inferred that there were certain people around me that were completely against gaming in any way, shape or form if the game was not educational. Only until I was able to leave them was I able to play a bit more. Even so, I never tried to get an actual console on my own until another friend suggested we get one together. It was then that I finally obtained some of the games I’d always only dreamed of, such as Final Fantasy X and Kingdom Hearts. How can anyone be against Kingdom Hearts, you ask? Well, I’m just going to chalk it up to the people that despised everything to do with games went through a different type of life. They still think games are a waste of time when they can always shoot 10/10 in real life (they used to be instructors). =/ Having seen their skills up close, I can see why they’d think games like Call of Duty are a joke (Wii hunting duck game, crown after 2 tries -.-0 ). Just once, out of curiosity, they tested the Wii and never touched it again. Even in light of all this, I still love playing most everything, although I’m also most partial to educational games like The Oregon Trail and Mario Teaches Typing (90wpm or Mario’s going in the lava!). The only games I could remember playing that were actually semi-acceptable to them were Super Munchers, Carmen Sandiego, Chessmaster and a few other random games. Commander Keen had to be played sparingly and even Super Mario World (SNES). It might be easy to guess how I felt after joining Vizzed and then being accepted as Site Staff. It felt like the gates of heaven were opened, literally.

When I say literally, the days when I first became Site Staff were also some of my most sorrowful days thus far. I had been so excited to tell my Pokémon friend I had become Site Staff for Vizzed, but they had already left for heaven via the open gates. They knew how much I loved to play, so I’m sure they would have been happy for me, but now I feel inadequate as a Trainer without the best Pikachu in the world to guide me.

I believe I really have to thank Vizzed for helping me through the loss of my friends. Sad things keep happening, but the wonderful community of Vizzed has kept me believing in love, life, and the miracles of God, whatever one conceives Him to be. After all that’s happened, there is one thing that I do want to say and that is, if you love someone or have something to say to them, tell them now. Even if you have over 1,000 words to say to them, it’ll always be worth the effort to let someone know how you truly feel about them. I do firmly believe this.

As for why I chose the name Yuna1000, it’s not just because of the song 1,000 Words from the game Final Fantasy X. For anyone who is not familiar with the Japanese story of folding 1,000 cranes, legend has it that one of your wishes may be granted after you fold 1,000 paper cranes. Thus, some people send 1,000 paper cranes to their special friends and family and other people that are still recovering from illnesses or injuries. My wish was for my friends to recover from illnesses like leukemia and to live happily, with as little pain as possible. Now that they have, in a sense, joined the ranks of the Sleeping Knights and left this world, I’m going to do my best to complete the things they always loved and wanted to do but didn’t have enough time to. Although I had to send my friends off a few months ago, I continue to hope, through God’s grace, that my feelings are still reaching them.

EDIT: Please feel free to move this thread if it is in the incorrect forum or location. Thank you, in advance, for all your help! ^^

Yuna1000 : I'm very happy to have you as a friend here and you truly are one of the coolest people I've met on this site. (though that's not saying much, hermit that I am )  I'm sorry about your loss. As long as you keep up their spirit, that has to count for something. I put my faith in God and give him the glory he deserves. That's what keeps me going at times. Peace.

Yuna1000 : That's quite the story you have there. But I'm impressed that you've done so much already. And becoming a staff member so quickly too! I know we haven't talked all that much. But I've seen you work really hard, along with everyone else saying how good of a job you do, and how cool you are! It's great to see how much God has been there for you too. You can always rely on Him!

Anyway, I hope you keep having a great time here!

Yuna1000 : I am also very happy to have you for a friend   sorry to hear about your loss 17 years ago  I  lost a friend of mine who I knew since I was 8 years old to a car accident and a few months ago an uncle of mine died of prostate cancer so I know how it feels to lose someone who is very close to you but I always try to have faith in GOD since that,s what helps me get through the bad times in life, thank you for explaining what the number 1,000 means I always wondered if the number 1,000 meant something or if it was just a random number like mine.

I didn't make a presentation thread either, so probably I should create one . Any specific reason you wanted to make this precisely in your birthday?

What a nice story. I did play Pokemon before coming here, but I've never played any Zelda games. I had for some time Twilight Princess, though I barely remember that game, and I think I had another game for the Game Boy Color, but that's as far as my memory goes. And also, there are more people in this site who aren't the typical gamer, as you say. I even know people who is here mostly to interact about Steam (and no, it's not zanderlex ).

You surely have had your ups and downs. Still, I'm glad you found the strength to continue. You're one of the most active site staff out there, and we are proud of having you on the team.

Keep it going and enjoy your time here. I'm sure many great things are yet to come for you if you keep trying this hard.

Yuna1000 : All I have to say is this was a really amazing new thread, I always find it nice to say that people have been able to enjoy vizzed not only because of the games but also because of the community that is has and that they can help you through difficult times. And the fact that you have accomplished so much while you were here and outside of here but you deserve every right to be here as you worked really hard I can tell. So I send good luck to you : D

Glad to see someone else likes 1000 words xD I thought I was the only one

Wow, that's quite a story. That's really sad about what happened when you were going to tell your friend about joining the staff... Anyways, I'm glad to have read this amazing thread you made, and I hope that you nothing else tragic will happen in your life for awhile, sounds like there's already been enough of that...

Wow! I'm touched that so many of you replied to this thread, it really means a lot to me! <3 Thank you, everyone, for always being so supportive of newbies like us in the Vizzed community! (I think I still count as a newbie compared to the Site Staff that have been here much longer. ^^0 ) You guys rock! XD <3

Ferdinand : Amen! ^^ I am very happy to have you as a friend here too, your friendship truly means a lot to me! I also want to say you're cool too, but cool doesn't even begin to describe how awesome you really are. So I'll just put it in a way that can easily be understood...

Ferdinand > Cool.

'Nuff said. XD You probably don’t know it but watching you put up screenshots daily and compete for 1st place in so many games in the RGR is very inspiring. You showed me how it is possible to continue as long as we have faith in God, and (even if you didn't know it at first) you are actually one of the first ones to have been helping me though the loss of my friends. As for hermits, they’re > cool in my book. =) They’re the ones that will teach valuable life lessons while imparting secret ultimate techniques to those that they deem worthy. Thank you for your words of wisdom, I'll put my faith in God and do my best to give Him the glory he deserves. Peace!

A user of this : Thank you! ^^ I will never take my position for granted, I’m sure the Staff was being generous when they granted a relatively new Vizzed member the opportunity to join their team. <3 Doing my best for Vizzed is the least I can do as thanks for some of the best gaming experiences of my life so far. ^^ I do believe God has been with me this entire time because I keep meeting more and more wonderful people and none of it feels like just coincidence. lol (It’s probably why we’re meeting officially right now too!) XD It’s true that we haven’t talked very much (I mainly saw you battling with Zlinqx in the Annual Rap Battle Tournament and always wondered what “this” referred to). Someday, I hope to learn the secret to that mystery (I figure “this” has got to be something awesome). Once again, thank you for the kind wishes! I also hope we’ll have some great times together in the wonderful community of Vizzed.

no 8120 : Likewise, I am very happy to have you as a friend and I’m glad you always try to have faith in God, too. Much like Ferdinand, you were one of the first ones to help me though the loss of my friends and I appreciate that you’ve continuously dedicated some time each day to chatting with me even while you’re adding content to the site. ^^ In particular, the times when you would show me something interesting you found in the RGR often made my day, and then I would be thinking about that for days on end. lol (You’re amazing to have found the Bad Apple song and the other things that masquerade as games! XD ) I don’t know how you and the others do it, but you somehow always manage to make the world a brighter place and I just really wanted to thank you for always being so positive and awesome.

I’m really sorry to hear that you lost your dear friends and more recently, an uncle as well. Please accept my condolences, and may God rest their souls in peace. It seems we are in the same boat so I will pray for everything to go well for you too, and we’ll get through this together. <3

P.S. About your number, I read the post where you mentioned that you chose your number randomly, but your numbers actually do mean something to me. lol (I used to see those numbers a lot even before joining Vizzed, and thought it was cool I’d get to see them again here. XD )

EX Palen : Awesome! Feel free to go for it! ^^ Just like some of the other people that have posted, I’d love to hear how Vizzed and the Vizzed community has affected your life as well. (It’s okay if you don’t feel like sharing though. I know from some of your previous posts that you’ve also been through some tough times yourself).

As for the newbie/birthday thread, I guess I should have seen this question coming. lol Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised someone actually decided to ask about it. ^^ I was originally going to post my newbie thread right after I became Site Staff, but then I lost my friends. For a long time, it felt like my world had frozen over and trying to start anything new without the friends I’d lost felt really difficult. Everywhere I went, I saw reminders of the past and kept remembering how things used to be before they left. I spent some time at a standstill (I wasn’t sure how to move on) but all the wonderful people I met in Vizzed kept me focused and moving towards my goals, even if I was moving really slowly.

I finally decided that I would post my newbie thread on my birthday as a means to start anew. I don’t mean that I will forget my friends here on Vizzed that have been helping me through my loss though. On the contrary, this thread is meant to be the start of something wonderful and I will remember all the precious time that we’ve enjoyed together with every year that passes and each time another birthday rolls around. ^^ In short, this thread is a reminder to myself that with the start of this new day, I will now be on a quest to celebrate life and fulfill the dreams of all of my friends (for my friends on Vizzed as well). Although it still feels strange to not be able to talk to the friends that left anymore, I’m going to believe that we’ve started on a new segment of our journey, where they’re still with me, just in the form of angels.

As for Pokémon and Zelda, finishing all of those games (along with most of the hacked games) on Vizzed is actually near the top of my Bucket List. ^^ I’ve decided to start with the games my friends left behind and then work my way through the RGR. Now that you mention it, I do think I have met some of the people that aren’t quite the typical gamers I spoke of. =D I guess I just have to find more of them. ^^ Also, how did you know what I was thinking of when you mentioned Steam? XD

I am thankful to God for guiding me to Vizzed (where I found wonderful friends to help me through difficult times) and for the strength to move forward, and now that a new day has begun, I will continue to do my best for Vizzed! As I stated when I first joined the team, I appreciate the opportunity to serve Vizzed and I’ll be sure to keep things going. ^^ Likewise, I am honored to be a part of the Staff for Vizzed! <3

deg2000 : Thank you! ^^ I sometimes wonder how I didn’t manage to find Vizzed earlier, I would have loved to join the community sooner to help out more. Good luck to you as well, and keep up your good work with the screenshots! (It doesn’t count as stalking if I just follow certain people once in a while, right? ^^0 )

Also, wow! You like the song 1000 Words, too!? Yay~ I guess I shouldn’t be surprised since you seem to play a lot of RPGs. lol We should probably talk more about that sometime. XD

gamerforlifeforever2 : Thank you very much for the kind wishes! ^^ Things have actually been gradually getting better ever since I put all my faith in God, so I’m hoping that it’s not just the calm before a storm. In any case, I hope that everything goes well for you too!

God bless all of you for choosing to share your stories with me, I appreciate your kindness and will be sure to remember them so I can continue to do my best for everyone here. I am truly blessed to have been able to meet all of you. <3 Thank you for officially welcoming me to Vizzed, I'm sure we’ll have even more fun now!

Yuna1000 : Definitely a strong story to read through < 3 but am glad that unlike most stories your light was able to shine through even with all the darkness that tried to capture you. (with your friend, and just how you may have felt before joining) Either way, I myself just like many others below am very happy and honored to have you as a friend on here! Even if it is just virtually and we can't laugh or actually see one another like most physical friendships, still doesn't mean we can't find great and true friends/people on here. <3 specially ones like yourself, Yuna.

Know you have almost been on here for a year; (even if you may not have done much at the very beginning) however, no matter the distance of time it's always great to learn interesting things about a friends life or just about a best friends interests in general. Just know each one of those...no...each one of "US" friends you have on here will always be happy we have met and gotten to talk to you somewhat   just have met you at all, and we're just as happy to have a friend like you on our wonderful site/community. Especially with becoming staff so quickly as well it's a big gift and joy and we all know with how wonderful your personality is ;P you'll do great with your continued position as staff and hope you'll always continue to enjoy it for as long as you can.

I know I haven't really talked to you as of late, but between everything that went on with me the past couple months and I didn't wanna end up bothering you at all but just know I'm still very happy to have you as a friend an somewhat like an older sibling to look up to when I may need it as well < 3 Even though some of us may be years apart from one another I will and I'm sure *holds hands out to other users on thread* everyone else here will always be happy to have you as part of our family in this community/on this board < 3 just hope you'll always feel comforted and happy here! We'll always be here for you *waves hand back at other users, and all give Yuna big hug*

Honestly though besides the silliness above <3 We really always will be wishing you the best and hope you can enjoy your time on this site together always feels great to see such a sweet and friendly user enjoying themselves together with others or with childhood games/games they love on here ^^. No matter what and how much time you may take away in the future, we'll always be here as a family for you when you may need it so you don't ever have to worry about that alright? And hey...I know I say this to many people but if you ever need to just sit and talk to someone at times (where something tragic happened, just wanna talk about your day, exc) :3 I'll always be here to pm/chat back and forth when you may deeply be in need of it...and I'm sure many others will do the same for you, Sis! < 3

Hope you'll have a nice night/day (whenever you see this/whatever time it may be for you) and maybe we might be able to talk more again sometime? (know I'm horrible at starting/lasting conversations ) and am glad you're enjoying things on here so far and hope it'll stay that way. See ya later, Yuna1000 < 3 .................

will you still like my reply though it's not a 1000-ish number??

Welcome to vizzed! I still haven't made an introduction thread, I might do something like that for my very-soon 3 year anniversary on vizzed (I might actually make it today by the way, I'll be busy on the actual day...).

This was a great read! Oh nice, you like Pac-Man too, that's always nice to hear someone say XD I'm so happy to hear that we've been helping you pull through your tough situations such as losses. I'm praying that it will remain that way, and that you'll keep your faith. I should really work on that, I keep forgetting to ask God for help when I'm struggling in school.

Haha, when I saw this I thought "it is pretty strange that she is site staff so quickly after joining the board" but then I realized you've been a member nearly a whole year. Makes a lot more sense now.

Well, welcome anyway! Hope you stick around and enjoy your time here.
