So recently the chat has been rather lacklustre, Now i know i can admit that i'm not there all the time due to me gaming etc... But recently in the last 2 weeks or so it's very rare to actually see an active member in their... So just try and stay around a little longer when you enter chat.. Give other people more than 5 seconds to reply.. and even try talking to users that you either never talk to or are just not fond of.. You never know you could start a new friendship!

You make a good point. I'd love for chat to become a bit more active again because I always end up checking on chat to find no one there. I try to make a habit of trying to talk to more than just one person in chat, even if it is someone I don't know. At one point, none of us really knew the people that would eventually become some of our closest friends. It just happened gradually. I think everyone should take a step out of their comfort zone and talk to someone they don't know for a change. I'm sure there's plenty of great friend material out there for everyone.

Looks like you succeeded!  The other times I visited recently there were 1 or no people there.  Even that one person often wouldn't respond.  Now I got to chat with up to 6 other people at once!  Still a far cry from its hey day, but I'm glad it's back, at least somewhat.

For me, and I'm sure it's with a lot of people, it's because they are busy to the point that they can't just hang around the site/chat room for a long period of time. I normally would be in chat when I am on the site as well, and alternate back and forth. But when I get very busy with other things, I can't stay in chat for long to chat with people. To add to that, when people start to stay away from chat long enough, they will forget about it. 

I think it is worth exploring to make an event/time to invite active members to just join in the chat room for a couple of hours, just to get people back into coming into chat for a regular basis and have chat regulars again.

Well, summer is over and people are going back to school once again, that means that they won't be anymore chat time, that is why school ruins everything.

I have went on chat a couple of times and those couple of times is when there is 2 other users or less on there, and that is when I borrow the laptop from my cousin, but most of the time, I'm on a mobile device.
