I grew up on halo and the day i got xbox live in 2011 i was a halo exclusive person for a year and the community was awesome. There was teamwork, friendly trash talk, awesome custom maps to be invited by others to play on and the fun goes on and on and on. Halo 3 was awesome Halo Reach was alright but Halo 4 and the problems that existed on launch of Halo MCC drove many people away. The thought of there being another Halo trilogy and Halo 4 sucking left a bad taste in my mouth for the future of the franchise. Could i be wrong and Halo 5 be this explosive superb game its being advertised and hyped up to be and could Halo 5 bring a lot of the old community back?

I guess that depends on whether the game is awesome or not. Only time will tell.

Fair warning: I've never played Halo as I'm more of a Sony man myself, but I'd still like to give my two cents.

Until the game is released, we really will not know if it will draw back the fans the previous failures in the franchise drove away. If Halo 5 turns out to be a phenomonal game despite Bungies (and the other studios contracted to do bits of the game) recent track record it still won't draw back all of the fans. This is due to the fact that many fans have a 'bad taste in thier mouth' now from the recent games, and this 'bad taste' will taint thier perception of the new game even if its the best released thus far in the franchise. There will need to be another couple solid releases to reestablish the golden community you knew back from when you started playing.
If this game is another flop than the community will only continue to go down hill as more and more good players leave for better designed games.

I honestly feel like if the game is good, people will play it. Whether or not the old "community" comes back is an entirely different story. I honestly feel like the community itself is part of what drove the "fans" away. The community certainly contributed in my decision to stop playing the franchise.

Mainly because the stereotype here is that the average Halo player is your immature 10-14 year old that wants to scream and talk trash the whole time and just troll the games. Or there's some other situation going on. I can tell you that Halo 2 was THE console game that got me into online play for consoles. But the series went downhill from there and the community with it.

I know that some of the immaturity is prevalent in all FPS games, but Halo does seem to be a younger than most crowd online
