My mother, I love her to death, and it's done out of love, is a perpetual nag. She can never be satisfied. If I know she's coming over, I can spend an hour tidying up but she'll still point out something. After 40 years I don't expect a change. lol. Obsessed with clean socks.

janus : Not a lot of people apologize to me. My parents and some of my friends do, but people that I'm not as close to don't apologize to me usually. I've noticed that manners are becoming more absent in my school. That's why I'm so passionate about having those manners myself. I'm hoping to inspire more people to be more polite

I can relate to how your mom is. One of my friends used to do that to me. I told him it was really bugging me and he kindly stopped.

PacmanandMariofan : I feel the same way too, but some "damage" seems irreversible. I have a lot of my father's pride, but at least I am conscious about it and try (with difficulty) to change it.

A lot of stuff my family does annoys the heck out of me... but I won't go into much detail: I'll just name one.


One thing that annoys me the most is when they talk too much or "beat around the bush". There are many times I want to say "Out with it!" or "Can you hurry it up, please?". I love them and all, but if you're going to tell me something please give me the summary portion of it. 20 words or less!! If you know where that reference comes from, then congrats on becoming my best friend. Anyways, there was this one time where I did tell them to give it to me straight.... You want to know what happened? They took it as a personal attack and started to argue with me.


So in short, I have "Essay Speaking" parents who annoy me to no end. This is why I never ask them for help with homework or anything actually.

My brother will ask a thousand questions while we are watching a movie.

My family is pretty nice (most of the time), but they can be very annoying at times. 

Let's start with my dad. I'll be doing schoolwork in a room with the door open (so it doesn't get stuffy) and he comes into the room stands there for like 10 seconds, and leaves. It's weird. Other times, he drink water outside of the room (the water filter thing is right next to the room I do work in). He checks on how much schoolwork I have finished like every 5 minutes. Another annoying thing that he does is when we're watching a sports game, and our team is losing, he turns the TV off in anger. I hate that, but he doesn't like to see the other team celebrate the win. I feel like you should watch that as it's not classy just to turn the TV off when your team lost. 

My mom doesn't do much to annoy me. One thing she does do is whenever she goes into a room, she moves the stuff around and cleans it up. She always feels obliged to clean stuff. Another annoying thing she does is she complains how about how cold or hot it is. If it's not between 70 and 80 degrees, she feels it is too hot or cold for her. 

My brother is hands-down my most annoying family member. He is younger than me, and he is very whiny. He cries if you even raise your voice at him. He gets away with so much too, because my parents think he's an angel. He could hit me as hard as he can, and my parents wouldn't believe me, and even if they did, they would punish me as well, because "they didn't see what exactly happened". He is such a picky eater (he's gotten better recently), and doesn't try half of the things we get at restaurants. When I was his age, my parents yelled at me when I didn't want to eat something, but with him, they feel it's alright. My brother is also highly spoiled. He has so many devices that he has gotten at such a young age. He's talking about how he wants a phone, because I recently got one, but he's way younger than me. To be honest most of the things I have said until now about him, are mostly my parents' fault, but here are some things that he annoys me with:
He calls my name several times when he wants me to talk to him, without even giving me a chance to respond. He hogs the tablet forever, even though I was the one who earned it. He always wants me to play with him and his friends and makes weird faces when I don't. 

Having said all of this, my family is great, and I love them.

The thing that my siblings do to big me is just but me over and over with extremely stupid questions, it is not fun since they do it every single day.

There's a lot, but one thing my mom does is she likes to gossip. We have a close neighbor friend who also likes to gossip, so if they start to do it around me I'll usually cut it short by saying, 'It's not my life. It doesn't affect nor involve me. I don't care" and then they drop it.

It's not overly bad, but my dad has this habit of constantly changing the channel. It's a joke in our family not to get too into the show, because once a commercial comes on (or it's a point where it's really good and he seems to think, "This is great! I wonder if there's something better on?") he'll change the channel. He once told me, "I pay for all those channels, I'm going to watch them".

My brother will often call me snowflake and I'll appear agitated but he's unaware that I'm aware he just wants attention and I give it to him. Besides Snowflake is a cool name it's like Ice Cube or Vanilla Ice. Nobody else in my family even tries bothering me though.

RDay13 : lol I had to laugh at the "just stands there for 10 seconds and leaves part", because my Dad kind of has a habit like that. Not as much now, but when I was about 14/15, he'd always walk by the computer (it was in the livingroom - I asked to put it in my room and that request was denied lol), sometimes standing behind me for a second or two.  Sometimes it felt like he was trying to 'make his presence known', or something like that.

More than anything, they hold a grudge for things I did a long time ago. I was an addict for about 8 years, and even after being clean for 8 months, almost nothing has changed between us. I doubt it ever will. I've tried time and again to prove I'm not the same person I was, but nothing seems to get through. I've resigned myself to just being distant to them forever. I don't blame them to begin with, but it does get on my nerves sometimes.
