In just a couple of months, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 will be released for PS3/4 And XBox360/One and this is something I am really excited about. It's been a really long time since the last Pro Skater game, or since a Tony Hawk game in general and there have to be a few gamers who are also excited to see this great series return.

I played all 4 of the games in this series with 2 being my favorite as well as all of the games in the Tony Hawk series.

zanderlex : The skating games that I have played are only two games called "Goofy's Skateboarding" for the PC and one of the Tony Hawk games. I liked them both, but not enough to where I would continue pursuing the skating games as a gamer. I decided my preference in games was towards all RPGs and JRPGs than other games like simulation games and skating games.

When I first heard about THPS5, I thought "wait, hasn't people called Tony Hawk Underground 1 THPS5?" In fact, THUG1's beta name was Pro Skater 5 before Activision decision to go with a new approach and started the Underground/Wasteland trilogy (with Underground 1, Underground 2, & American Wasteland).

This is what confused a lot of people when Activision decided to call it "Pro Skater 5" because of Underground 1. But hey, no matter what it's called, as long it's a good Tony Hawk game and not gimmicky like Ride and Shred was, it's all good, plus the Tony Hawk series was the 2nd ever video game series I gotten into, so, I have played the series for a long time.

I have only played the first three THPS games, but I loved them (not so much THPS3, but the other two were good). THPS was the best however, so I'm a little uncertain as to what should be expected here because the series consistently went downhill from THPS-THPS3 in my opinion. Still my inner child can't help but be a little excited at the return of the series. I'm really wanting to find someone who has it and will Share Play with me so I can see what I think before I decide on a purchase or pass.

So yeah, if anyone wants to Share Play this for me, I'd love that. Just putting that out there.

Eirinn : I think Tony Hawk actually got a lot better in most aspects after the Pro Skater games, so I think something good can happen here. My favorite happens to be American Wasteland.

Eirinn :
zanderlex : Well, American Wasteland was the last Tony Hawk game that was actually decent and then they started to get a little more gimmicky and lame with Project 8.

I think if Activision do like what they did with Pro Skater 2 (my most favorite Tony Hawk game in the series), that will bounce their series back up in popularity like it was in the early 2000's.

IgorBird122 : The 2nd one was also my favorite, and if they are making a 5th one, I'm actually expecting them to continue after that and for that, I'm hoping that they make a 2nd American Wasteland.

IgorBird122 :
zanderlex :
Judging from the E3 video of it I saw in June, it'll be faithful to the THPS name. In fact they're bringing back one of the levels from the first THPS (Warehouse), and I know the tape collecting is back (not sure if that was in the other Tony Hawk games). It really looks like they're intentionally keeping the various series separate thankfully.

I'm also hoping Park Creator returns. I spent a lot of time making parks on THPS 2 (I don't remember if 3 had that or not), and with internet capabilities these days we could share our parks with people all over the world. Now THAT would be awesome. In fact, forget Career Mode, that feature alone would justify a $60 price tag I think. The ability to share your park with friends in THPS 2 was the only thing that held it back from being an amazing feature, and simply left it as a good feature for a while.

Now we all three need to get it and share parks etc. xD

Eirinn : Sharing parks would open up a whom world of opportunities, but something that big might be a bit to big for a game to handle for the same price.

Eirinn : I do hope that they bring the park editor back to, it's the feature I like doing more than the rest of the game itself. When they (Activision) removes the feature starting with Project 8, it disappointed a bunch of fans, although they have tried to bring it back by adding Park Editor in the regular levels in Proving Ground, but they basically half-behind it. I say, bring back the Park Editor mode (both in level and from scratch).

Activision should realize that how the Internet is and how people are creative, I think they will get a bunch of sales if they bring back the Park Editor.

zanderlex : Perhaps, but then again there are games that allow level creation and sharing and to my knowledge sell/sold for normal price. For instance, I believe Mario Maker is one that retained (or will retain. Not sure if it's out or not) a normal price range. Though it is JUST a level editor mode so that may not speak to this case. Then Little Big Planet 3 has this feature and I think it retailed at $60. Whatever the case, here's to hoping. And who knows, I might be willing to pay a little extra for that feature, although I thought Sony said standard edition game pricing was capped at $60...but I can't say for sure.

IgorBird122 : Yeah you're right, that feature alone would sell a ton of additional copies. I hope they don't overlook it.
