This weekend, I went to my friend's house, which is about a 2 hour drive from my house. I hadn't seen him in a long time (almost a year!), so I was so excited!

Little did I know I was in for even more of a blast than I expected!  On Friday night, we mostly played games and talked at his house. We also saw the movie Wreck-it-Ralph at an outdoor screening. Saturday was the most productive day of my entire life (that I can remember)!

First, we got up super early at 6:30AM and got ready to leave. We were going to help out a church clean out a couple yards in a neighborhood. On the way there, we stopped at Burger King. After we went out of there, I met a couple people he knows: one of his friends, and his girlfriend. He told me I would be meeting her this weekend, but I didn't know she was his girlfriend until a few minutes after I met her XD

We walked to the houses and did the yard work there until it was time to leave. That's where I met more of his friends! About an hour before we were finished, me, his friends, and his girlfriend got something to eat. All of that work made us hungry and all that was happening over at those houses was people moving things to different parts of the yards anyway. We went to Donato's pizza and we all shared a large pizza. My friend and one of his friends kept acting really weird and it was too strange for the rest of us, so I sat with the rest of his friends (which were all girls because he's always been a chick magnet) and we were separated from those goofballs for a while.

That's how I got to know his friends, and they were all very nice and inclusive of me even though they didn't know me yet They're all so funny too, which is an important quality in people XD After we finished our pizza, we headed back to the houses and wrapped up the yard work. We all left to go home. Me, my friend, and his friend that made them both be goofballs, stayed together for a few hours afterward.

We went to his friend's house and then walked around the city for a while. Since it was just the 3 of us and his friend was being less weird, I finally started talking to him and getting to know him. Now I know that he's more than just a weirdo He's really nice, like all of my friend's friends are! He and I talked a lot.

Later, we went to the community pool and swam and ate snacks for around an hour. After that we left for a while and then came back for another hour. I pulled a muscle while swimming that made it difficult for me to walk, and my friend did too. He said he never had cramps before, so this was scary for him.

Then we went to get my friend's girlfriend from her neighborhood and go to a lake. After that was over, we took her back home and his friend back home as well. Next, we went to my friend's house and stayed there for a little while to rest. After that, it was getting dark and my friend and I went to his girlfriend's neighborhood again to have her come with us again. We went to a park and talked for a while. We played a lot of funny jokes on each other (ah, friendship!). The jokes got interesting as we left the park.

My friend decided to randomly (I guess. He wasn't saying why) stop talking to us, probably as a little joke. So of course his girlfriend was upset and she kindly asked him (over and over) to talk. Then I started doing the same. After around 15 minutes of that, I asked him if he was insulting me.

The reason why was that I was usually pretty quiet and not saying much around his friends. It wasn't out of shyness, I simply had what my mom calls "brain block": I struggled to think of things to say. That was mainly because they were talking about events and other people that I didn't know anything about.

My friend said he still wasn't going to talk but he wanted to know why I found his silence insulting. I explained to him that I keep being quiet and I thought he was teasing me for that. He clarified that he wasn't making fun of me at all, then he went back to his silence. It still offended me a little but I didn't say anything. () Then his girlfriend was begging him to talk to us. I had a funny idea and said to him (in a funny manner, my specialty besides being quiet ) if he doesn't talk to us then I'll have to use all 3 of my giant water guns on him. XD Soon after that he finally talked again

The next day, we went to church and after the first church service, I had lunch downstairs in the cafeteria. My friend couldn't make it to the first service because of taking care of kids, so I stayed for the 2nd service with him. It was pretty interesting for me to attend both church services instead of one. Afterward, we went downstairs in the cafeteria and his friends I had met the day before were all there! I was starting to bond more with his friend that I at first thought was just plain weird.

When that was over, most of our group went home but my friend and I went to his house to get ready to go to a nature center. That was pretty nice to see, especially seeing rabbits that reminded me of mine back home! Next we went to a beach and threw a beach ball around in the waves. The strong wind was ruining it. XD After that we got ice cream and then I packed up all of my things to go home.

Like I said in the title, it was the best weekend I remember having! All of his friends were so nice and welcoming of me. They all look forward to me coming back to that city to hang out with them again. I got many high-fives and goodbyes from them. As someone who struggles with making long-time friends and finding good people to talk to, this means a ton to me!

I'm definitely going to text my friend later and tell him that I should go over to his house much more often than I have so far, and thank him for letting me hang out with his friends (and even his girlfriend) so much. This weekend was my only time ever being there.

I'm glad you're back. Had me worried how you just left randomly. Glad to know you had a great weekend and the things you did sound really fun. 

Barathemos : Yes, Burger King is amazing! Better than McDonald's, as I always can't resist saying.

I've shared a large pizza many times before with my family, but I don't think I've done it with friends before. We couldn't take it somewhere else, so I asked everyone I was with if we don't finish that pizza, what do we do with it? XD I'm glad I pointed that out or we might have wasted some by throwing it away. It motivated us to have some more.

I hope to visit my friend's city more often so I can have more weekends like that!

I mentioned in a couple threads that I would be inactive for the weekend, so I didn't think a lot of my vizzed friends would know about it. The most fun part of the weekend was just walking around the city and talking.
