I actually have a lot of spam emails coming to my gmail account, but most of these spam emails on my account talks about someone creating multiple credit cards under my name and doing a bunch of stuff with that credit card. The spam emails come to me speaking about how I need to verify my status with them to complete the offer or deal, but I do not click on any links in the spam emails. I just open the spam emails to see what their about, but I do not contact the organization either to find out what is going on with my credit card. Do you think I should pursue some course of action to better enlighten myself on the ordeal or situation or should I stay an isolationist (in lack of better words)? Also me just opening up the spam emails in my gmail account seems to make more activity happen with my credit card and not clicking on links in the spam emails to understand what is going on with my credit card. Is this situation a beginning to identity theft in that a random credit card has been generated under my name and being used for loans and legal stuff or has the identity theft already occurred and it will only get worse from here on out?

happiness7 : Are you having any problems with your credit card, if so, try to monitor your bank account that you use your credit card with. If you see any unauthorized payments, then you more likely got your information stolen and put a lock onto your credit card, but if not, make sure you have both your ID and Social Security with you. If you have everything and all is good, then it might just be stupid not spammers spamming the daylight out of you.

Just check your bank account to make sure nothing funny is going on.
