Here's a beta of the Vizzed Chat Box which will be placed along side all games in the play windows of RGR and I'll also be using the same engine to replace the current shout box on index and profiles (but will be keeping the same content). Basically it's a real time chat I put together using javascript, iframes, php and the vizzed board database (ajax).

I've put 20+ hours into this so please no criticism but I'm open to suggestions. Anyways, here it is:

Please test it out and let me know if there are any issues with it, I've only tested it out on my own computer so I don't now how it'll appear and function on others. Works fine , too bad you can't do top to bottom , also dose it HAVE to load everytime someone replys , its very annoying but I can live with it .

No it updates by itself, there's just a slight delay. Also the whole point is to have it update everytime a person sends a message but I will let users disable the chat box for those that find it annoying.

Also I helped test alot of things lately (photo album , this) so next time you need testing give me a PM .

I world like the feature to know if someone logs out or something .

please don't.... not -every- page at least.

At the bottom of index.php makes sense (or somewhere on that page) but the bottom of every page is silly.

I could make it so that you can choose to open it in a pop up window so that you can have it open while you browse the site, that's a possibility.

well, a lot of forums that do have chat boxes put them on the top of the pages.. but now that i think about it, i dont think they were on every page, but just the index one.. i think one of the forums that i spent a lot of time on had it on every page though, so that may be the reason why i thought it was pretty common. the index page would be great, but i could live with the pop out chat thingie too, but if it were on the index more people might notice it.

ive noticed a lot of people arent very perceptive, and it could be easily missed as a thread containing the link, or as a link thats somewhere at the top of the page or something. this may not be a bad thing though, because it wouldnt get massive spam lol

I seriously like the idea of having a pop up chat.
It would be pretty much like a irc but it would probably get a heck of a lot more people.
But definitely not on every page.
Wouldn't that make a page load a lot slower?
And there's not really any need for it anyway.
