I have been trying to figure out for some time why I cannot seem to play any games.  Most of the time I get "RGR plugin has crashed" so I reload the page and it sits at the loading screen.  I have even waited for hours, and at the bottom of the loading screen it says emulator closed.  I am not sure what that means though.  I have tried this on many many games just to see if it is the game.  I have visited the help center for some possible options, and I have tried most if not all of the suggestions.  I have the newest versions of everything I can, besides java which, for some reason, my computer will not update anymore.  I have tried reloading my page here, closing and re opening my Fire Fox browser.  My computer is up to date running windows xp.  I only use firefox as I do not really trust or like internet explorer.  I am out of options so if anyone has something else I can try, please help me out.  I really love this place and try to visit every day.

How long has this problem been going on for? I've noticed that you've been a member of the site for awhile. Have you ever been able to play games?

I see that you've mentioned that you tried many games. Do absolutely NONE of them load no matter what you do?

Are you running the x86 version of firefox or the 64? I've also seen that many users seem to have issues with the 64 version and the Plugin.

I've noticed that there seems to be a trend of users that are running Windows XP more recently.

I have been playing some of my favorite games of the past for a while on here, that's why I love this site.  Recently I tried to play metroid zero for the gba I believe it was and it never loaded, so I tried a few of the other games that I have save files for like Final Fantasy, and that does not load either.  From there I tried random games and with no luck there as well.  I am not sure what fire fox I am running but I will look at that.  As far as xp goes, I know it and it is easily fixable in every aspect that I know of without having to call tech support and have them do it for you.  The problem has been noticed for about two to three weeks now, with the RGR plugin crash.  Thank you for your time Jordanv78

lordbelial669 : No problem. Could you be a little more specific as to when the problem may have started for you? Was it when you updated to the newest version of the plugin, or has it been happening since longer ago than that?

I understand what you are saying about XP. I was just referring to the fact that it seems like more and more XP users are reporting issues with 2.30 version of this plugin.

You can easily find the version of Firefox by moving your mouse over the desktop icon. Will tell you the file location and something like (x86) or (x64) I figure that you are not running the 64 bit version, but I want to be sure.

I am currently using firefox 39.0 x86.  I downloaded the newest version of RGR when none of my games would load.  That should have been around the end of June.  None of the games I have tried, from almost every system that I can play, have ever loaded, and i get a message that says "RGR plugin has crashed"

lordbelial669 : Yeah It seems that the newest update is giving people using XP issues. Until I can come up with a solution, my best suggestion would be to revert back to using an older version of the plugin. Most users that have done this were able to play games again. The only drawback is you probably won't be able to netplay, but at least this way you can play games until something is figured out in that regard.

Jordanv78 :   I am not really sure how to go back to an older version.  I will certainly try that because I am really starting to miss all my old games.  I don't net play, so I am not worried about losing that part of it.  Thank you for all of your help thus far.

I also have attempted to go back to 2.25, it doesn't work (basically you have a file in your start menu, [use the search box for vizzed] and you can uninstall it there. Then you go to the RgR forum and download the prior one...)

I've been unable to play any games the past few days and I'm getting rather aggravated because i have tried getting some information from the staff and the forums with no luck. I've tried everything suggested to no avail.

I run Windows 7 Home Premium, 64 bit, firefox with the latest CV++ (and installed the version 8 edition that vizzed suggests just in case.) and have had no problems up until this point.


Once i downloaded 2.3 though, EVERYTHING stopped loading.

the window pops up but doesn't load the ROM, then shuts down after 2 hours of doing nothing. i really wish there was some information on what's going on with this, as i really want to get back to playing Road Rash 3!!! :'(

I did revert back to the previous patch.  I deleted the newest and re downloaded the previous one from the link here, and it works just fine for me now.  I can play my games again at least, and post and do just about everything still.  I have never done net gaming, and probably never will until I can get the points to get the newer systems

I don't know if this will add any useful information, but I logged in last night for the first time in months, updated to 2.30, and started playing a TurboCD game. It loaded and played fine, but I've tried a few times today, and it won't load at all.  I tried downgrading to 2.25, and still have no luck. Other games load just fine.  I'm running Win7 64 and using Pale Moon or Firefox as my browser. (Pale Moon is a Firefox derivative).
