Sorry kids, Rapidash/ponyta are my favorite fire types, thought typlosion takes up my favorite fires starter. 
Ponyta and rapidash in fangames have saved me from defeat SOOO many times. So Rapidash and Ponyta for the WIN!

Though for fighting it  depends on the moves, stats, ivs, evs, and the trainer itself along with the pokemon so who knows which pokemon would win.

Fire is my favorite type in general, so it's kinda hard to pick a favorite one to be totally honest. I've been choosing the Fire starters on my first try at any new game since I started playing as a little kid and a lot of them are pretty epic. But if I had to choose, I'd go with either Tepig and it's evolutionary line (Burnt Bacon is the best bacon) or Arcanine.

My favorite fire type pokemon is typlosion because I enjoy utilizing its speed and special attack in combat. I love it's move set as well and its design overall however my spot for favorite starter belongs to another Pokemon sorry Typlosion. Mega Arcanine is gonna be the fire type to finally win me over.

The best fire type is hands down Reshiram. I know its a half Dragon type, but it still counts. I love it's stats and a Flamethrower TM gives it an amazing Move-set (it may learn it naturally, I haven't played past Gen 3 lol). And it looks cool as can be to boot.

Blaziken, easily. In fact, the whole evolution tree. I have fond memories with it and how useful it was in Emerald to me, it has a great movepool, and it has really nice stats. It has a cool design, too, and when I saw its mega-evolution, I was even more enthralled. IMO, it's one of the greatest Pokemon in the whole franchise.

I actually don't like fire type as a whole. But I do really love Blaziken. It has so much power that it swept everything in my Ruby playthrough so many years ago. I also really like Typhlosion but mainly due to nostalgia reasons because G/S/C was my favorite game in the series and I always chose Cyndaquil as a starter. It was my first fire starter, since in R/B/Y I chose Bulbasaur, so of course I will like that line.

So basically I love Blaziken and Typhlosion as well as the Pokemon within their lines such as Torchic and Cyndaquil.

If it is not a legendary Pokemon, then I would pick Heatmor. I love its ant eater design, and I hate Durant as a Pokemon, so those things can kill Durants as much as they want to.
