I know that a lot of people are probably think I'm crazy, but I prefer Super Smash Bros Brawl over Melee and here's why. Brawl has Subspace Emissary, which acts as as story mode, and it has what are in my opinion some of the most epic cutscenes in gaming at that point in time. I understand that Brawl has slow combat, but I think that the Subspace Emissary makes up for it big time. Like I said before though, I know I'll be in the minority here.

I'm going for brawl. It seemed to be better than the previous installments.

Melee. All the way. It refined the awesome gameplay of the original, and isn't as extremely slow as brawl.

Brawl all the way. I only ever played Melee once so I have no idea what it's like and Smash 64 is just... hooorribly outdated.
Brawl also has a better cast than Melee and the Subspace was enough to keep me busy for literally hundreds of hours. Those cutscenes were the bomb. It honestly made up for the horrible internet mode to me.

Of those, ill go with Brawl, since that was the one that I kind of grew up playing and I played it a lot. I did play Melee and 64 a lot as well, especially 64 and quite recently too, but Brawl is the best of them.

When I was younger I always loved to goof around in Smash Bros. Brawl on the Wii at my friend's house. We'd build funny stages and trap her brother in pits and throw bombs on him. He enjoyed trying to get out so all was good.

Whether I was actually good at the game is a different story. I'm sure anyone can beat me :p

It's a really close call for me. Melee was a more refined Smash 64. It polished the graphics, and really made Smash Bros as popular as it is today. But Brawl had a REALLY fun single player mode. Something I wish Smash 4 took notes from. So I'm going to have to pick Brawl. Mainly because I have more fond memories with it than I do with Melee.

Okay, the times I only used Shine in Melee matches were fun. But that's only one thing.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

Man, are we really already calling these Super Smash Bros games classic? Jeez, I'm getting old XD

With that said and me being my old fashioned self, my favorite SSB game would have to be the first one for the Nintendo 64. And frankly, I am a little disappointed that I'm the first one to vote for it. Not just compared to the other two in this poll but compared to the rest of the SSB games, I think the one for the N64 was the easiest to play and also the most fun to play, more importantly. The newer ones just added more and more content that just eventually made it too much for me to take. Its kind of like the same thing with Pokemon for me...I only played the first 2 generations because when they kept adding more and more generations, it just gets way too confusing for me XD

I prefer Melee out of them all. I spent a lot of time playing the game with my family and I had a lot of fun unlocking the characters. I felt you had to do a lot more to unlock the characters in Melee than Brawl. I like the challenge and it felt rewarding whenever I unlocked someone. I didn't feel the same way with Brawl sadly. After playing Melee I just couldn't get use to how slow the game play was in Brawl. The game is still fun to play but I still enjoy playing Melee more. It may be because of the fact that I hold precious memories of the game all those years ago.

I miss listening to the Metal Battle theme that played.. during the metal battles. lol

I loved brawl the most. Even though it wasn't as fast as Melee, it was still a fast paced game. It was also very easy to get into and it was very easy to unlock characters via Subspace Emissiary, so that meant you could brush up on competitive practice or casual practice a few days after getting the game. (Unlike Melee, the game where you have to wait five hours to unlock a character that wasn't even that stellar to begin with.) The soundtracks were a huge step up from Melee, adding a bunch of remixes and original songs to the soundtracks. There was even a lot of fanservice with characters like Solid Snake or Lucas.

Even though I like all super smash bros games, but if I had to choose it'll be brawl. I really liked it's adventure mode in particular.

I've only played the first two Smash Brothers games in my life. My favorite classic game was on the N64. It was the first and most interesting game for me.
