Adam Jensen is coming back!
For those of you who really like RPG/stealth/action elements put in a realistic-futuristic-cyber-punk world, you will be served. It looks like Deus Ex series is coming in with a new entry for the new generation of consoles and for the PC : Deus Ex : Mankind Divided (DE:MD).
The game is set two years after the events of Deus Ex : Human Revolution (DE:HR), with the same protagonist as the first, Adam Jensen. As some of you may remember, this series started off quite some time ago in 2000. The world it was set in was 2052. So, the newer follow-up is going to be a sequel to DE:HR, now set in 2029. As last time, the time period used might make us wonder how close we are to such times and whether that kind of social debate might happen in the coming years, as our technology advances. On that game, it looks like we will see a world much more torn apart than last time. Terrorism seems like the main premise, and through it, pulled strings from the renowned Illuminati (those of you who played the other games might very well remember them for their discretion).
DE:MD seems to revolve around the same mechanics as DE:HR. No surprises here. Probably some new powers that we have not yet seen and that will make our agent Jensen look so much like a badass, as he did in the past game! Story-wise, based on the official Deus Ex page, Adam Jensen is "disillusioned and bitter" since the last events of his latest appearance. He seems to be joining a couterterrorism unit to, you guessed it, counter terrorism with his useful abilities. His goal seems to be to get up to the Illuminati and settle the score with them. Question is, will he be able to reach them and put them down? And if so, will it truly change something? I guess we can only be certain by playing the game ourselves.
No release date has been confirmed yet, though we will surely know more about the game on the next E3 (2015) taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, June 16
to June 18.
