Together with the Steam Sale, there is a "Monster Summer Game".  Playing this game helps unlock discounts for everyone.  However, the game is basically "Cookie Clicker" with a new coat of paint.  Plus, it resets every day, so all progress is lost.

When I see this game, I think "Valve...what were you thinking?".   Plus the Summer Sale is shorter than usual.  Likely fewer discounts.  And I have little desire to play the "Monster Summer Game", even if it will unlock discounts.  Valve, please bring back the traditional format.  I really don't want any sale to be like this one.

Sorry to break the news to you, but Valve, being the worst company in the world with their customers, doesn't care that you don't like this format. Valve is making more money by making these seem like deals, but not giving as good of a discount. Valve sucks, and honestly, as long as they are the only PC gaming company that has such a huge data base of games and so many users, they aren't going to do anything about it what so ever. Hell, they'll probably get rid of the summer sale sometimes soon.

It's all crap, I hate valve, but I have to use it because I can't afford a $400 system. They're just rude to their customers, which honestly makes me want to go to somewhere else like Origin, but I know I won't get the best game.

Valve is just an awful company, and we just have to deal with it. It sucks but there isn't anything we can do but stop buying their product, which we won't do. Stupid Valve. 

I tried it and I didn't like it at all. I played it for like 20 minutes and more than 90% of the time I couldn't tell what was going on or what I was doing, or even why I was doing it. There were so many ways Valve could have taken that idea and made it so much better but it looks like they didn't want to make it fun or good or whatnot.

supernerd117 : The game is a generic cookie clicker game... i played it for one day, and by play i mean i spent all the coins i got on health and let it grind in the background... During this sale.. I haven't seen a single good deal come out of the monster summer game.. Actually to be more specific i haven't seen a single game i've ever considered getting be on offer... 

Barathemos : How much of a discount could you possibly want.. I'm not sticking up for valve their customer service sucks, but they have fixed their awful refund system..  I mean they are under no obligation to even do a sale... Heck there in a position where they could quite easily never do sales again and still easily make profit... Jus saiyan

zanderlex : Why would they actively not want to make a game fun.... As for not understanding what your doing.. it's a cookie clicker game.. like literally the most basic of games out there pretty much... you click on the monsters they take damage... 

Like i said before i'm not sticking up for valve at all.. But your being awfully negative about discounts and a game that honestly doesn't make a difference.. What exactly was you expecting 90% off GTA V or something.. or perhaps a summer game compariable to half-life or portal...

I just think your expecting far too much that's all.

sonicmcmuffin : The concept is a clicker, but then you have all those other aspects, like the lanes, and player health. You can click and just not pay attention to what's going on, but there's still going to be things going on in the background that nobody will understand. Half the time the monster didn't even take damage and you only get coins every now and then and I don
't even know when the coins are supposed to pop out, you could go a whole 10 battles without making any.

sonicmcmuffin : I believe I may have been overreacting.  It may not end up being terrible after all.  But I still feel that it might have been better for there to be no game.  I can't say for sure.  Nor do I expect huge discounts on new games.  However, I admit I would be pleased to see bigger discounts on certain games.  And I would also be pleased if they went back to their old system.  I'd rather vote on games to get card drops than play a mediocre one to get them.
