76 years ago, Adolf Hitler had intentions of controlling the world.
74 years ago, Japan involved the U.S. In World War 2 by bombing Pearl Harbor.
And in less than 6 hours, the 71st anniversary of the dropping of Fat Man and Little Boy bombs on Japanese cities will occur.
Little Boy was a small bomb that was aimed at Hiroshima, Southern Japan at the end of World War 2. Fat Man was a bomb 5 times the size of LB, damning the entire city of Nagasaki. Although these cities could have been and were rebuilt, nothing can replace all those Japanese Citizens living their typical lives, or the ones of the Americans that were willing to risk their lives in the submarine transporting those bombs. It was unfortunately sunk after the delivery of the bombs.
My great grandfather was only 16 on June 6 1944, was ready for the one day he would be pulled out of his Connecticut home and go to the U.S. Military on his 18th birthday, but thankfully, the war ended when he was 17. He would have served as a Medic, as he wasn't very skilled with weapons, and he was talented with his first aid from Boy Scouts. Since then, at least one man from my each of my family's generations would become a Eagle Scout, to honor my great grandfather and be thankful he didn't have to risk anyone's life or his with his Teenager Medical skills, because although he was talented, the first aid skills were semiprofessional.

My grandfather fought against the Soviet Union which was at that time same as fighting along side by side with the Nazis. So who was right?

D-Day: the beginning of the end of Nazi occupation... and the beginning of USSR occupation of Eastern Europe. I really wonder which one they preferred...

Wow 70+ years on all of it? It's been a while but if I think about it my grandma was alive during that time and is still alive today. I have been wanting to ask her if she remembers any of the news that may of happened around that time.
