This is very frustrating I need to change the controls on the menu. The menu pops up sometimes on accident
but I don't know how to do it just bring it up anytime so I can change the controls.

Any help would be appreciated!

nostalgickevin : I'm not sure which system you are trying to bring the menu up for since you didn't specify, but after taking a quick look at your game history, I figure you are talking about N64.

With regards to N64 the Mupen64 emulator does not currently allow for controller re-configuration with the plugin via menu. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed in a future update of the plugin.

If you want to re-configure the controls, you need to use the 1964 emulator for N64 games.

Or you can follow along the instructions found in this thread - https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=79869

Also, a quick tip for the future. If you need help regarding the RGR plugin and you create a thread, you should post it into the Retro Game Room Forum. That way issues are seen quickly by the people who best know how to help ;-)

@Jordanv78

I thought there was a key to press that manually brings up the menu on any game

That would be a great feature to add @Davideo7

But thank you Jordan!

nostalgickevin : Menus are specific to the emulator itself, not the specific game you are playing. Some systems have a menu you can bring up by pressing the ESC key. Other systems just have the controller re-config that is brought up by double-clicking the game screen.

Sadly for whatever reason Mupen64 with the plugin doesn't have this option. We have been aware of this problem for awhile. Hopefully it's something that's fixed in a future update of the plugin.

In the meantime, you can use the 1964 emulator, which does allow for controller re-configuration.

Since this question is basically answered, I'm going to go ahead and close this thread. Feel free to PM me directly, or the RGR inbox if you have further questions regarding this specific matter.

Happy Gaming!
