DestinyHeroDC : Technically, screamo isn't a music genre, its a style of vocals. Death Metal, Deathcore, Hard Rock (somewhat) include screamo vocals, but yea I understand what you mean.

cylonbait : I like a variety of different music, and what I like is constantly growing. The types of music I am into is ska, rock, classical, jazz, classic rock, some heavy metal, some rap, hip hop and R&B, dubstep, country, and some EDM.

There are a few types of music that I have recently gotten into such as Irish music (Irish Rock such as Flogging Molly and traditional Irish music), musical comedians (Bo Burnham and Stephen Lynch), and one that has recently become more popular due to the musical Television show The Sing Off - A Capella (Pentatonix and Straight No Chaser). I love finding different types of music to listen to. I like to have a mixture of music at my disposal so I don't get bored with the same old stuff.

As for "real" music, I'm a rock/hard rock guy. Electric guitar is almost an essential for me to have good music. And if the lyrics are good too, then it's a perfect match! I usually enjoy whatever is on the local rock station, although I also enjoy classic rock like Van Halen, Pat Benetar or old Iron Maiden/Metallica.

I used to be into a bit of pretty much everything, but over the years I've lost interest in some genres of music. I can't stand rap at all personally and don't listen to it anymore. Hip hop and R & B are also genres I just can't get into.

I have my small group of singers and groups that I absolutely adore like The Corrs, The Veronicas, Amanda Marshall, etc, but number one above them all, is Taylor Swift.

I'm mostly into Hardcore Techno or Gabber for short. I like the early 90s era of the genre, which I call the golden days of Gabber. Today's type is much more brutal bass and louder drum kicks, the earlier times were the greatest of this music genre.

Top 5 bands of all time in no order : Black Sabbath, Black Flag, B-52s, Motorhead, Overkill. I can handle good death metal but not much qualifies as that for me. I hate new rap but love the golden age I guess you call it now. A little country is ok, 80s pop. Never liked grunge or anything associated with that genre except Soundgarden's "Badmotorfinger" (which is great). And now I catch myself listening to the things MY parents used to on the AM oldies station. Tastes change I guess.  Honorable mentions for bands include: Slayer, Beastie Boys, Ramones, AC/DC among a million others.
