I dunno , you have to teach your kid to be alert , and Sonic the hedgehog is the right game , Sonic the hedgehog (right until after shadow the hedgehog) used to be harder then mario , Sonic 2's special stage is hell (even without Miles prower(Tails) ) .

Congrats, David! Though I have to admit that it seems weird to think of you having a kid. I have this habit of always thinking of board people as I first met them, and even though you're a year younger than me I always think of you as younger than that.

But what is with every 2nd person asking about whether your kid will join Vizzed?
I bet 99% of us will be gone by that time anyway.
And Didowe, there is millions of better ways to teach your kid to be alert. I don't even know if playing Sonic would help at all.

I been more alert after playing SA2B and SRB2 , really it helps because of how fast your going and stuff you just need to keep your eyes open .

I matured at a young age, I had the common sense and wisdom of someone far older than me when I was younger so I hope my child develops the same traits. It does have a lot to do with how you raise your kid though and how healthy the wife is during pregnancy and how healthy the kid is growing up. A lot of things are factored in and I've got most of them covered.

Also from personal observations, I've noticed children who are around adults more are usually more matured and smarter while the kids who are around other kids more are less matured and usually not as smart. I don't plan to ever put my kid into a day care, I'll be working from home so I'll be able to give our kid the attention he/she needs and I'm hopefully eventually, as soon as I'm making enough money, my wife wont have to work and will be a stay at home mom who can give full attention to the kid.

But since my medical issues and coming to Vizzed and being surrounded by adults, my maturity has greatly increased. It's also very good that you're not planning on taking your child to day-care. Your child not having much attention can cause them to misbehave to get attention.

Joebab: Thanks. While I do think a lot of games are healthy for a kid to play, if overly done it can become unhealthy like anything.

Didowe: 10 years from now and I bet I'll be one of the only current board members still active. Look at 8 years ago, the only person left who is active is myself and Aaronrulz and he's only recently beena active again. Of course there's a few other members who are semi-active from 6-7 years ago.

For the parents who have that as their only option, there's nothing wrong with it but it's just better as we both agreed to let a kid be around their parents more or at least adults who will give them attention.

And I understand what you mean about thinking people are older/younger than they really are. I've always thought Elara was older than me, but I'm actually older than her.

As for the attention thing: it's a balance. Give your child attention when they need it but don't be there 100% of the time. Somtimes they need to fall down and get back up without being coddled in the process. They also need to know how to play alone as well as with other kids or adults. Balance

Geeogree: On the current board, yeah you're the oldest 1000+ poster but WvoulfeXX would be if you counted the old board, which of course we don't. I think he's older than you anyway.

I agree with the balance but a lot of parents seem to be lazy and just throw their kid in a pit with other kids and let the other kids and tv take care of their kid

the first time i played gta was when i was 4 and my family reackons exposery is better and stuff because they might be scared when they play and act realy wierd when there older

I guess I appear older than I am, huh? But yeah, you've always seemed older than me Geeogree, if that makes you feel any better... not much older. I seem to always be conscious of who is older than me on the boards and they are really the only ones that age to me. I have to keep reminding myself that the people that were in middle/high school when I first started posting here are in college now or beyond and it's really trippy sometimes.

And hey, I was here 8 years ago... at least I believe it was 2002 when I first started. I know I was either still in high school or in my first year of college when I joined, I remember that much.
