Having a baby must be the greatest thing in the world, I wish we could just skip the pregnancy part and go right to having the baby be born.

I heard that having a boy kinda sucks when they start to pee, heard they'll sometimes just start spraying everywhere, all over the walls, etc. Probably the only bad thing about having a boy

i was reading back on the whole diaper thing, and i gagged a LOT the first (and only) time i ever changed a diaper. wasnt my kid, i was just watching him for a few hours. anyways, it was awful, but i wasnt going to let him run around with a full diaper... what really sucked was that his parents came home 5m later D:

heh, that's not the only bad thing about boys I'm sure... but the peeing during diaper changes is one of the things you've got to be aware of.

I'm sure there are challanges with either gender that you don't get with the other.... that's just the way it goes =/

Boys do pee everywhere. All they know is to pee. Which means you may have a face full of pee if it's a boy. Kinda like what I did to my dad when I was a baby

Okay now here's the real thing you worry about .

disorders (or something) like autism and ADHD .

Really they will give you a hard time if they get this (and they get it when they are born ) .
do NOT look for "cures" of autism , there's none really .

ADHD , I kinda have this when I was young but at this age , I don't think I do anymore .

But overall the chances of your child getting this is rare , well ADHD is kinda common .

there are more disorders but I don't want to search for them.

Now just search them on google or something .

PS: Just let your child read books or something , also if you can try reading non picture , novel books .

yeah, you really can't spend time thinking about what could go wrong.... because there are so many things that have super slim chances of happening. In the end you take what you get and do your best with it.

actually, people just dont know how to raise their kids, and they 'think' their kids have ADHD, when they really dont, and doctors just dope them up to collect the money from the pills.. its sad really.

I used to have 'ADHD', but in reality i just needed some discipline, something i never got growing up. once i started disciplining myself, it miraculously went away!.. well, it was either that, or because i had started smoking... not cigarettes btw

I agree that this is true for at least some kids. Some kids have no structure in their lives and are allowed to do whatever they want.

There are others who are ADHD for real and do need to be medicated.... but I think we have over-medicated that problem (like many others) instead of trying to find a root cause of the problem. There are many health problems that can be solved simply by losing weight and eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. But that doesn't make money so you usually just hear about a drug treatment that will fix the symptoms of a problem rather than tackling any root cause of the problem.

Which is why I don't worry too much about problems my child has. I worry more about what she eats every day and figure as long as she's eating plenty of fruits and vegetables along with a bit of other stuff then she should be about as healthy as she can be.

Exactly, I'd rather spend my time worrying about eating healthy and how to prevent health issues rather than worrying about if it'll happen.

I do agree with Chronobis on the fact that lack of discipline will usually result into the child developing bad behaviors.

Not sure yet, since our kid will be home taught, he/she will be ahead of other kids his/her age so our kid will be intellectually equivalent to someone older so who knows, maybe 10. Of course, I'll give him/her all the guidance so that they know how to post correctly and aren't a spammer. Of course it'll be hard not to show favoritism to my own kid

Do you think that when you get too old, would your son take over Vizzed when he knows enough about it(and when he is old enough too)?

he'll be an admin in a week!!!!

That would be crazy if our kids posted on Vizzed some day. It would be even stranger if some of mine found it without me telling them about it

Hate to burst your bubble, but people do have their limitations. Some aren't smart, some are. It depends on the person. Same goes for maturity. But, since there is genetics, odds are your kid will be as mature as an adult at a young age.

I matured at a young age, I had the common sense and wisdom of someone far older than me when I was younger so I hope my child develops the same traits. It does have a lot to do with how you raise your kid though and how healthy the wife is during pregnancy and how healthy the kid is growing up. A lot of things are factored in and I've got most of them covered.

Also from personal observations, I've noticed children who are around adults more are usually more matured and smarter while the kids who are around other kids more are less matured and usually not as smart. I don't plan to ever put my kid into a day care, I'll be working from home so I'll be able to give our kid the attention he/she needs and I'm hopefully eventually, as soon as I'm making enough money, my wife wont have to work and will be a stay at home mom who can give full attention to the kid.
