Phone Guy and Purple Man are the SAME thing. Here, in Fnaf2, one of the minigames makes you explore as what seems like a an old restaurant. As you continue to venture around, a purple man tries to get you. If you touch him, you will get a jumpscare! (It has been awhile since I have played Fnaf2, I play Fnaf3 alot now. I think the minigame I am talking about is the last death minigame. Let me go back to it later). Anyway, the Purple Man seems to be holding a phone. Due to the horrible Atari-like graphics, trying to use your naked eye to identify this object, pixel by pixel, it looks like a phone. To further support this, he has a yellow badge on him like Phone Guy who is a security guard! In my opinion, I think that they are in fact the same guy! Please vote and reply to me, saying your thinking and some reasons why you think they are the same person or not!

I just watched the video, and my head hurts xD. I don't think I have any compelling evidence against it at the moment, but I remember myself finding a lot to say against it back in the past when I engaged in these discussions a lot more often, haha! I don't remember what I had to support my opinion, but I certainly remember what that opinion was! They are not the same person ;P.

I also just woke up, so my mind is kind of blank right now, heheh. I guess I'll believe it for the time being since MatPat (as usual) seemed to make sense... until I remember the reason I strongly disagreed with the theory back then .

Although Phone Guy refers 'the employees' instead of the 'co-workers' in Fnaf franchise, it doesn't mean that he's Purple Man. In Fnaf 1, Phone Guy dies. In Fnaf 3, Purple Man dies. Still don't believe me? Play the 'Follow me' death mini game in Fnaf 3. In one room, you'll see a Bonnie head, Chica head, and a skull. Could the skull be Phone Guy? Yes. Purple man died with the usage of the Spring Trap suit. I say that the Phone Guy being Purple Man theory is false.

in Fnaf 2 the old and new animatronics have a facial recognition system (old and damage) my theory Say's the Phone guy
Survived the Night and how...... if the Fnaf 2 old Animatronics are the same as in Fnaf (with the damaged facial system)... like in Fnaf 2 using an Animatronic face to survive that's how I think he survived -explaining better-
 The phone guy last night he was running out of energy and he was recording he's last message... (the phone guy/purple guy is a criminal for kill the children's he probably  search by the Police he "fake die" so police will not search him anymore) so after run out of power all other animatronics gone and Freddy comes.... the phone guy quick put the Fnaf 2 mask and fool Freddy.... that's how I think he survived
